“I'm surprised you could see anything seeing as how you were balls deep in some bimbo’s asshole all night” Kaz spits out. She covers her mouth with her hand and looks over at Xavier and I with wide eyes like she just realized we were both in the room.

“It was her mouth actually” Jamison responds and turns toward his twin with a glare. “And I didn’t realize we were discussing all of our exhibitions so freely.”

Jonathan doesn’t say anything. He just stands there like a deer caught in headlights.

“I don’t have time for whatever the fuck is going on here,” I say, waving my hand at the three of them. “What happens between Riley and her husband is none of my business and I don’t care.”

Lie. I want everything happening with Riley to be my business.

Kaz turns back to me “You should care Sebastian. You should care a lot actually because the night before the event, Riley told me she was leaving Nate for good. She told me she had feelings for you and planned on telling you the next time she saw you!”

The room is silent.

My head is spinning, and for the first time in my life, I am at a loss for what to do. I can’t think, I can’t breathe. I don’t understand this emotion. Is this what it feels like to care about somebody, to be worried about them?

I turn to Xavier, attempting to give some direction of what to do next, but he’s quick to speak before I can.

“I’m already on it Sebastian, tech is tapping into her phone and tracing it. We should have a location anytime now,” he says.

Chapter 46

Riley

How many times has he drugged me? I wonder as I come to once more. It’s morning now, I have no idea what day it is. Nate has come and gone, and he’s taken advantage of me again and again. I look down at my body, there’s blood on my thighs. He’s stopped using lube and now just ignores my pleas for him to stop. I think he may be trying to kill me. Or make me want to kill him.

“Breakfast,” Nate says. I must have been woken up from his car pulling up. He’s suddenly inside and digging through his backpack.

“Can you just untie me so I can eat like a normal person?” I ask. He’s been giving me breaks here and there to eat and use the bathroom but when he leaves he ties me back up.

“Don’t try anything stupid,” Nate says. “I’m getting us out of here today. I’m just waiting for some things to come through with work…” he trails off as he continues rummaging through his pack. He finds some kind of bar, and a bottle of water. I have no appetite but I know I have to eat if I want any chance of making smart decisions.

Nate’s cell phone rings then and I watch as he looks at the screen. “Shit I have to take this.” As if we’re in a normal setting.

“Hands? Please?” I hate how pathetic I sound, but I have to ask.

He quickly frees my hands, now making sure my legs are tethered to the bed so I can’t go far. I watch him walk out the front door of the cabin and try to listen in to his conversation.

“Yes,” he says. “I am really looking forward to this new chapter. I figure I can set up new sources and contacts there and get business off the ground for a few months. A fresh market means new girls. Maybe we’ll move on to another place after. Please let me keep her.”

He pauses, listening, then sighs. “If she becomes an issue I’ll take care of it, I swear.”

Fuck, he’s essentially kidnapping me and hiding somewhere remote. And apparently doing Lochkart’s dirty work throughout. I have to do something. Though I’m no longer sure how much Nate is doing for someone else other than himself anymore.

So I start screaming bloody murder. Surely if I can hear Nate on the phone, whoever’s on the other line can hear me screaming for help. I shriek like my life depends on it, and Nate flies back through the front door.

“Fuck Riley! What is wrong with you?!” he shouts.

“What’s wrong with me?? I’m fucking tied up like your sex slave Nate. I’m your goddamn wife but if I had any sense I would have left you years ago! You’re psychotic! And disgusting!” I don’t care any more about playing to his good side. Every time he’s assaulted me, insulted, hit me, or mortified me comes rushing back. I’m enraged and full of hate.

“I fucking hate you!” I shout. “You’ve ruined my life!”

Nate is quick now, and leaps on top of me.

“You ruined my life Riley! The least you can do is keep playing the part of my loving and doting wife! How dare you think you can leave me to deal with this fucking mess our families created!” He screams.

‘What?’ I think as I go still.

He pulls another syringe out and practically spits out his next words. “You’ll do your best to shut up Riley. Remember that.”
