She fisted his vest and pulled. "Come on, let's go outside."
She needed some cool breeze from the night to cool off and muster the strength to keep from taking him up on all of his threats. He made her crazy, wild, and not like herself. When he was around, she only saw him. Nobody else. He made her forgetful and greedy.
"Lizzy?" called Coco.
She stopped and pointed toward the door. "We're going out for a few minutes."
Coco flashed her a thumb up and stayed behind with the others. She had no worries. Coco made friends wherever she went, unlike her, who usually designated herself as the responsible person when they went out, which meant she never allowed herself to drink and be carefree.
But, at the clubhouse, she could let the responsibilities fall off her shoulders. Roar would make sure she arrived safely at home, and Coco was free to do what she wanted.
Outside, she held her arms out to her sides and twirled, letting the coolness of the night touch her skin. She felt alive and free.
"Don't tease me, woman," said Roar.
She stopped in front of him. Maybe it was the night. Maybe it was the mood. Maybe it was the attention Roar gave her that made her feel brave and daring.
Slipping her arms around his neck, she lifted herself to her toes and rubbed her lips across his. When he continued to stand there, doing nothing, she licked the corner of his mouth.
His whole body hardened.
Encouraged, she whispered, "You do crazy things to me, Roar."
He growled.
"It makes me want to move," she said softly against his lips. "And, touch."
She reached down between them and ran her hand down the front of his jeans, squeezing the hard ridge straining against the denim. He exhaled harshly, and she rubbed her cheek against his. What she was doing was only a fraction of how he made her feel simply by standing there.
"Prez?" shouted Brage.
Roar turned his head. "Here."
Lizzy stepped away from him, breathing hard at the interruption.
"Your call came in."
"I need to take that." He pushed away from the outside of the building. "Go inside."
Warmer than ever, she shook her head, unable to argue. She'd forgotten where she was and had touched him. She'd gotten turned on outside with others around.
"I-I need to cool off." She hugged her middle despite the night air. Internally, she was overheated.
Roar turned from her. "Brage, get Coco to come outside, and then you stay with her and Lizzy."
He left her alone. She paced back and forth, trying to shake the arousal that'd possessed her to start something in front of everyone who hung out in the alley during the party.
She'd only had one drink, but he'd challenged her simply by being Roar and available to her. Blowing her breath out, she turned when Coco called her name.
"Over here," she said.
Coco hurried to her. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Roar had something he needed to do and had Brage send you out here with me." She shrugged. "I don't know why. I only need to cool off. It's so frickin' hot tonight."
"It's not that warm," said Coco. "It's dark, and there's a breeze."
She laughed, sounding hysterical to her own ears. "Trust me. It's hot."
