And she didn’t think it had been the sex. Remmy had been perfectly fine during that fun.

All she knew was they’d been resting after some really good sex, and the mood changed.

Calyx wasn’t sure what had been bothering him, but when he said they had to go, she didn’t question it. Someone had a really good gut instinct, and she wasn’t questioning that.

No.

Freaking.

Way.

Truth be told, Remmy had saved her ass before, and she trusted him. Where he would take her, she had no idea, but she was game to go there.

She would be with him.

“Where are we going?” she asked, finally breaking the silence.

“Someplace safe. My hidey-hole. We’re moving in until the city is safe,” he offered as he scanned the streets, looking for something that might be an issue for them.

Well, that answered that.

Calyx wasn’t mad about it.

What woman didn’t want to see a man’s home, and know that she was about to ‘move in’?

Even if only temporarily.

Okay, so it wasn’t a date-date, but she’d take it.

They didn’t talk more about their relationship, than when he showed up on her doorstep, but she had a really awesome time with him as they rolled around, and now, she needed more.

She needed all.

Calyx wanted all of this man, and she hoped he’d open up and share what he was really like.

That was her secret wish.

As he had them put on disguises, her hair tucked up into her hat and dark glasses, with him in his customary hoodie and shades, they had headed out.

Someone was taking a lot of precautions.

They had to have walked for a good hour, and they weren’t that far from where they started.

Ironically enough, The Underground was less than two blocks away.

When he escorted her into a run-down building, that looked like a place homeless people would call home, she was shocked to see that was just outside.

Inside, it was secure.

There were cameras.

Walls.

Protection.

Someone had been hiding in plain sight, and she wasn’t shocked.

“Welcome to my home,” he said, unlocking a door with a keypad. “It’s our shared birthday, in case you’re ever in need to come here without me. I want you to be able to access it and use it as a safe place to go.”
