If there was one thing that made the man go crazy, it was his wife and her well-being.

“I’ll represent Littlemoon Investigations and be ready to file a complaint against the department.”

That meant Bodhi was going to be finding his woman. She had a wedding to plan, and there was no way he was missing that.

“I’m not an investigator, but I can look at the bodies if need be. If you can get the ME there to let me, I will. I want to help. If my wife-to-be and her people are solving a case, I want to make sure I give them everything I can.”

Lucian was curious.

“Can you talk an ME into that?”

He nodded.

“If the ME is willing, yes. If not…no. I work for the Salem PD, and we don’t have jurisdiction. This is about being nice.”

They all looked at Lucian.

He looked around.

“What?” Lucian asked.

“Who wants to tell him?” Raven inquired. “Because he is so oblivious as to who is going to actually get arrested at this point.”

The man began laughing.

“I’ll be nice.”

Now, the dead around them were laughing, and that was just creepy over their phone app.

“THEY. CALL. YOU. EL. DIABLO. YOU. GET. MEAN.”

He snorted.

“The devil? Come on,” he said. “No one calls me that,” he added.

No one said a word.

In court, Lucian was vicious, and while they didn’t often utilize his skills, they absolutely called him that.

Not to his face.

“Okay. Point made. You all call me that, and I get testy when my wife is in danger. They locked her in a holding cell. That’s foul. This time, I’m being provoked.”

They all agreed.

Tori and Bishop were going to take umbrage to that too. It was going to be a race to solve this.

As they were taking off, Lucian’s phone chimed, and this time, he knew who it would be. When they’d stabilized, he reached for his phone.

‘I sent you the information. It’s a small police department. You have all the information on the two cops handling this. I’m working on the victims. The papers are hush-hush. Apparently, this is high profile. Someone powerful just might be tied to this. Be ready to have some fun—Jules.’

By fun, they knew he meant trouble.

They were going to be in the paper.

Bet.

On.
