He knew.
Lucian was fighting it too.
“Avalon!” someone called, and they both turned. There were three people, and Lucian didn’t recognize them. He had no clue why they were in his head.
“They’re not. Your third eye is connecting to mine. They are in my head.”
That explained it.
“I have to go,” she said to Lucian. “Let me help you,” she offered as she touched Lucian’s head, opening more of his gift.
When he roared in pain, and went to his knees, the space around them began morphing.
“Where are you going?” Ridge said, trying to soothe Lucian. “Help him!”
She turned.
“Here, I can’t do that, but you can. You’re connected to him. Use your heart and practice. You have to learn to connect without the pain. He’s fighting it, and I warned you it would make it more difficult.”
And then, like that, she and the three mystery people were gone.
Ridge held onto Lucian, and tried to soothe him, but it wasn’t easy. He felt bombarded by the energy.
“Lucian, I need you to focus. The static is too much for me. Please! You have to stop fighting it. Let go. We can do this.”
Hearing the man call to him, Lucian somehow was able to focus. When he did, he stared up at the man.
“I’m about to stop fighting, Ridge. I’m going to try and not hurt either one of us.”
He didn’t care.
His body was on fire.
“Ready?” he muttered, the voices overwhelming him so much he couldn’t fight off what he was feeling.
It was like he and Ridge were being pulled together. The more he fought, the more it hurt—like he was being torn in half.
It’s your souls trying to stay together. Go with it, Lucian. I promise it will stop hurting. He’s your other half in the static. Your soul knows his. Let go. He has you.
Well, then, he was going to take that advice.
The minute he released the struggle, all around them, the vision morphed, and they found themselves in an odd place.
There was a stone floor, a big poster bed, and candles lit.
Go to the bed.
Hurry.
When Ridge heard that, and Lucian asked him if he was ready, he sure as hell hoped so.
That need raged, and he could feel his body tingling from just being this close to the man. His third eye was open all the way, and he needed this man to help him control it.
“Yes,” he said, finding strength to get up. When he did, he turned, and Lucian was there. He moved at him, and Ridge felt trapped.
Like he was prey.
It sent waves of desire across his body, and his dick went hard.
