Well, that sounded about right.

“We’re going to go talk to anyone who worked with her fiancé, Giles. Thank you for talking to us.”

“Do you think the guy she was shacking up with did this to her?” Lesia asked.

They both nodded.

“We just need to know who it was.”

She looked sad.

“I’m sorry I can’t help you more,” she said.

They believed her.

“Thank you,” Genesis offered.

They let the woman go back to her desk to check in someone who came into the hotel.

Tori knew they needed to, but she also needed to help the universe out too, so she changed the focus, briefly.

“About this guy I know who would be perfect for you,” Tori said, pushing it.

“Uh, I’m not really into dating. I’ll take the job with you guys, but I’ll pass on the male attention. It never ends well for me, and after this case…men are just pigs.”

Tori said nothing.

Why?

The Penthouse

Afternoon

When she ran into the penthouse, she found her husband and Ridge sitting on the couch, and both of them were doing work.

She slid to a stop.

“What?” she asked. “What happened? Who got hurt? Are you guys okay?”

Both men looked up.

And then laughed.

“Bish, I said when you got a chance. I didn’t say rush right here,” Lucian admitted. As long as they were touching, like their knees were, they were calm.

Ridge was willing to leave the room.

“Should I go?” he asked.

Lucian shook his head.
