So did the detective.

It was clear that she realized the second voice was the dead man’s dead wife.

As they headed into the park, they found it pretty much deserted.

“Where is the water that bodies might have gone into?” Tori asked.

Genesis pointed.

“I hike here. The only one that is attached to that tributary is the small lake not far away. It’s surrounded by trees, and people go there to hook up.”

Clearly.

As they walked, Tori was scanning the area. There weren’t any signs of dead people.

Yet.

As they got closer, the lake opened up to them, and it was absolutely gorgeous.

“Wow,” Tori said. “I miss this side of the country. The mountains and the nature…”

“I’m sure Massachusetts is pretty,” Genesis said.

She was honest.

“We live in Witch City, USA. We have plenty of sights, and most of them are crazy,” she joked. “We are close to the ocean though, so there is that.”

As they moved even closer, that’s when Tori heard it.

Crying.

Uh-oh.

“Do you hear that?” she asked.

Genesis shook her head.

“All I hear is boots crunching in snow, and the occasional chirp of your phone.”

Tori scanned.

That’s when she saw it.

“We were right. We have a dead woman to your right. She’s standing over a lump covered in the snow.”

She pointed.

Genesis looked that way, and all she saw was what looked like a pile of snow.

“That’s a body?” she asked.

Tori nodded.

“I think we found the fourth woman, Cyrus’ wife.”

And a dumping ground.

Something nefarious was going on.
