His voice was so low it was scaring the shit out of her.
“And?”
“He needed me. I could hear him calling me in my mind, so I went into their room, Wyn, and he was having sex with her. He kissed me.”
She blinked.
“Are you telling me you had sex with someone else?” she asked.
He shook his head.
“No. He kissed me. It set us all off. He was trapped in the opening of his third eye. It’s now permanently open. We were going to lose him. I had to save him.”
She understood.
“I’m sorry, Wyn. God. I’m scared and sorry all at once.”
She knew what he was worried about.
“And you think you cheated on me?”
He nodded.
“To make it worse, I went to touch his hand, after Bishop left because now I’m compelled to have contact with him constantly, and he pulled away from me. He’s never going to let me near him again. I feel so empty and lost right now. I needed to call you. Our gifts are tied together. I feel like something bad is going to happen and I don’t know if it’s what he's feeling or an actuality.”
Wynter was a smart woman.
She knew that Lucian and Ridge were tied together long before this moment. She knew there was a chemistry between them that they also had, and that Lucian had with Bishop.
They didn’t have sex, but they could definitely do it if the women weren’t in their lives.
“I’m so sorry,” he said.
She reassured him.
“Were you dressed?” she asked.
He nodded.
“Then why are you worried about us? I’m more worried about you and Lucian. Ridge, he’s like the other piece of your soul. I know he’s valuable to you.”
“If I lose him I don’t know what I’ll do. He quiets my demons, Wyn. The static calms me.”
She reassured him.
“He’s likely freaked out and that’s what you’re feeling. Give him some time. Now, we need to talk about something else.”
He waited.
“Was the kiss hot?” she joked, trying to cheer him up.
Ridge wasn’t expecting that. With that one comment, his wife caught him off guard.
It made him laugh.
Her too.
“Yes,” he admitted. “It may or may not have had an explosive outcome.”
