Bishop stared at him.

That was a lot to swallow, and also scary. She knew what Oracle had told her. Apparently, that kiss when they all came had been enough.

Ridge and Lucian were more than just friends now. They were a team.

As for the touching part….

Ridge always touched Lucian. The nature of their gift was that connection. They meditated together. They napped in the same room after a particularly brutal trip into the static. They were always touching.

“Why?”

“Bishop, what if this ends up destroying his marriage, or mine?”

“So you don’t feel anything toward me?” she asked, as she stood naked in the shower.

His body reacted.

Oh, he absolutely did.

“No, I still want you, but in my head, there’s this buzz that I need him too. I’m scared.”

She was curious.

“And if you fight it?” she asked.

He already knew the truth.

“I’m not going to be able to go back into the static again. If I lose Ridge, my gift is…dead. This could make us even more susceptible. I told her I wanted to be deeper to protect my family. Now, I’m on the cusp of losing it all.”

Bishop had to cut him a break. While this made her uneasy, what was done was done.

As long as she didn’t lose Lucian, she’d do whatever she could to keep him in that partnership with Ridge.

It was clear he needed him.

They were apart and her husband was despondent. She’d never seen him like that, even when she’d been hurt. He’d been a rock.

He’d been sturdy.

This was rattling him.

“We all know what’s between you and Ridge. We all see that chemistry. Wynter and I aren’t idiots. If it weren’t for us, you two would be having sex. That might be why you guys connected so well. Stop fighting it. You have to fix this. You need Ridge, and I’m betting, he needs you too.”

He said nothing.

Bishop went deeper.

There was only one other reason he could be freaking out.

“You liked the kiss, and that scared you. Ridge is very comfortable with being near you, and you’re jonesing from that connection.”

God.

But he was.

“How many times have we seen you and him holding hands, or you so close your bodies touch when you walk?”

“Bishop.”
