Well, at least the man was consistent.
There was that.
As they headed in, Bishop didn’t see her husband or Ridge anywhere. They weren’t in the living area, or the foyer. That likely meant they’d already gone into the static.
Now, they’d be off resting.
She knew how draining that was for them both. She wanted to check on them to see if they were okay.
Bishop, and the two ladies, headed toward the master bedroom of the penthouse, and when she opened the door, they all saw something they didn’t expect.
Lucian was there.
As was Ridge.
Naked in bed.
Together.
Trey, of course, needed to add his opinion because that was what he did.
“SOMEONES. HUSBAND. WAS. WORKING. OVERTIME. THIS. MORNING. AND. NOT. WITH. HIS. WIFE. OOPS,” Trey said, the app on the phone going nuts.
Genesis gasped.
And Bishop?
She PANICKED.
Chapter Thirteen
The Penthouse
The Aftermath
Saturday Noon
O h, boy, but speculation was flowing. It was difficult not to see two naked men in a bed, curled around each other, and not assume the worst-case scenario that they’d interrupted something no one was meant to see.
Especially a wife.
Bishop’s heart was pounding in her chest, but not for the same reason the women were shocked.
She.
Saw.
Blood.
This was wrong.
When she heard her husband’s voice, she could tell she’d been right. Someone was hurt.
“Bish,” Lucian said, whispering her name.
That was all it took.
She raced at him, and when she reached him, she saw more blood, and Ridge laying there not moving. Immediately, she climbed onto the bed.
