“So this guy keeps coming back, and then, she goes missing. I really believed that he got her out of here. You know, the whole ‘meet your prince’ deal. We didn’t know she was dead. Did he kill her?”

They didn’t know who ‘he’ was. That was step one in tracking him down.

“Well, if you can give us a little more…”

She didn’t hesitate.

“He’s that dude that is all over TV. You know the one whose wife is missing. Him. Fake ass smile. Fancy lawyer clothes.”

They all stared at her.

What?

Was she serious?

“Cyrus Lawley?” Bishop asked.

It was all kinds of ironic that they’d brought up his name, and now, here again, it was. His wife was also missing.

Uh-oh.

“Yeah, him. The lawyer. That’s why I was so pissed. He’s flush. Then, I heard what happened with his wife. She’s missing. I mean, maybe he did something to all of them. Maybe a jealous woman took her out. I don’t know, but that’s not my job, I shake my ass for a living.”

Oh, boy.

Tori pulled out her phone and texted Bexley and Raven. She needed information.

More than they had.

‘I need you to research Cyrus Lawley. It seems he was in contact with Keri Hester. We need to figure out if maybe his wife isn’t the only one he did dirty. Get what you can. We’ll be coming in soon.’

She hit send as the detectives kept doing what they did best. The woman was rattling on about the guy.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Bexley to reply.

‘On it, Boss. He’s all over the news. I’ll see what we can find. It can’t be a coincidence that his wife is missing too, and then Keri Hester.’

She was aware,

Then, she focused on the conversation.

“Did anyone else get bitchy or maybe worry when Keri disappeared?” Bishop asked. “You know since you threw out the ‘jealous lover’ theory?”

“Uh, I don’t get jealous. I get even.”

That was good to know.

As for their question, the woman thought about it.

“Actually, yeah, her boyfriend. He’s a bartender in the bar across the lobby. He works in the restaurant, and he was territorial of Keri. I’m talking ‘come in and watch her work so no one bothered her’ territorial.”

Well, they’d be talking to him.

Definitely.

“Do you know his name by any chance?” she asked.

She did.
