Tori continued since they were all working on this together.

“That means there’s a dumping spot upriver. I need to find their spirits and talk to them.”

She didn’t even flinch.

“Okay. Then, let’s get ghost hunting. I’m down with it. It’s weird, but you’re not lying to me. That’s the one thing I can tell. I feel like I can trust you. My gut means a lot to me, Mrs. Littlemoon.”

Tori liked the woman.

“You can call me Tori or Victoria. I’d like to get to know you more.”

She laughed.

“Why?”

She was honest because you didn’t lie to a walking lie detector.

“Because I think our paths crossed for a reason, and I’d like to test run you and see if you’d fit well on our team. I’m going to hire you to come work for us since you’re going to be a free agent in two weeks.”

Bishop was not shocked.

She saw this coming.

Yeah, Tori was predictable.

The bottom line was that Tori and Julian were always on the lookout for new psychics to add to their team.

“What’s funny, Bish?” Tori asked, seeing the look on her face.

She was honest.

“Just that this is new. Normally, you wait until the end, make Lucian and Ridge draw up the employment packet, but now, it’s jumping in. Someone’s running amuck while her husband isn’t here.”

Tori was amused.

“Want a new job?” she asked Genesis.

She pulled into the parking lot of the city morgue, and put the car into park.

“Are you being legit?” Genesis couldn’t detect a lie, and she was hoping this was the real deal.

Unemployment-ville sucked when you had a dog to keep in kibble and vet shots.

Tori nodded.

“Your boss is going to make your life a living hell since you sided with us earlier. You absolutely don’t want to go back there since you gave your two weeks’ notice. If you want a job, you’re hired.”

She stared at her.

Yep, the woman was not lying.

“Question.”

“Shoot,” Tori said.

“Do I have to work with assholes like Jon? Because I’m going to be honest. I can’t do it. It’s killing my joy.”

That was easy to answer.
