“The wedding suite, huh?” Bex asked. “That’s romantic.”

Hailey didn’t get it, but she would soon.

There was a lot more in that suite than she suspected. Bodhi had done his job as husband-to-be. Hailey was about to be romanced from a distance.

The woman passed her the key and got back to checking them in. When she got to Bexley’s reservation, she looked up.

“Mrs. Darby,” she said, pausing. “Wait. Are you the writer? That Bexley Darby?”

She passed the woman her credit card.

“Yep. That’s me. One and the same.”

The woman actually reached under the desk and pulled out a book to show her.

“Oh, I love your books. The men in them are so sweet, amazing, and sexy. I wish I could meet a man like that, but that’s just fiction.”

Ehhh, not so much.

They did exist.

The case in point was the man she was engaged to. She had her Raven. He was wicked, witchy, and so damn sexy. The good ones were out there.

“I suggest looking in a coven.”

The woman stared at her, and her friends all giggled because that was kinda how she found her wicked Raven.

Bexley grinned.

“What I mean is keep looking. They do pop up every now and again.”

The woman sighed.

“I wish.”

She kept typing.

“Mrs. Littlemoon, your suite is the business one. All four are in a cluster on the top floor.”

Tori’s husband didn’t book hers. She did that kind of thing on her own. She was, after all, able to handle it. A part of her did wish Julian was romantic, but he was up to his eyeballs in shit thanks to his sisters going to war.

“Yeah, that’s what I booked. I’m just an old married lady. We don’t have millionaires, witches, or romantic MEs. We have husbands who forget to put the seat down.”

They all laughed.

They all had news for her.

That was every man.

When a piece of paper moved on the desk, and a pen stood up, writing, Tori had to grab it fast before Bethany did something ridiculous.

At Victoria’s quick movement, the concierge actually jumped.

“Sorry. I’m just so darn excited to check-in,” she said, holding the pen to sign the receipt.

That had been close.

Bethany just wanted to be included, but ghosts and mere mortals trying to get a paycheck did not mince.
