He moaned as it felt like invisible fingers touched and stroked him.
I’m sorry.
That was all he heard in his head as Lucian was on him. He roughly pulled him into his body, and his mouth crashed into his. He dove in, taking control.
Lucian!
God. I need you. Please.
Ridge stopped fighting it, and let go.
Then, I’m yours.
And with those words, chaos erupted in the static and pulled them both under.
From where he sat on the floor, his hands on Lucian and Ridge’s shoulders, he could feel what they were feeling. There was so much intense need that it made him break into a sweat.
“Are they okay?” Bishop asked, seeing Ridge tense, and a tremor move through him.
Raven nodded.
He was giving them some protection. He could feel the dead all around them, trying to reach their voices in the static. The two planes were trying to rejoin, and if that happened, they’d have a huge issue.
They were separated for a reason.
Bishop got down outside the circle and watched her husband. Lucian looked as calm as ever. He was still in that same meditative trance, and looked to be fine.
“Can I touch him?” she asked.
Raven shook his head.
“He’s deep into the spirits. The voices are all around him. His conscious is taking in information, while his body is doing other things.”
Oh, well, they knew who he was doing.
Ridge.
“Are they having sex?” Wynter asked from the video call.
Raven wasn’t sure what to tell them.
“They are and they aren’t. Their brains think they are, but what they’re doing is exploring memories and the static. Lucian is asking who the killer is. He’s trying to find it for his wife.”
Bishop hoped he was safe.
“Are you seeing what they’re seeing?”
“No. I’m feeling it.”
“What do you feel?” Wynter asked.
“So much love. They love each other very much, and both of you. There, it’s survival. Here, it’s everything else. They’ll be fine. Just let them do this. I won’t let them get hurt. The circle will stay intact. If it does, they’ll come back fine.”
The women looked at each other.
And prayed.
They prayed Raven was right.
