She smiled at him.

“No worries, Ridge. Just don’t be shocked when I walk up to Bishop and kiss her on the mouth—with tongue.”

He stared at her.

“You’d do me dirty like that with a pretty lady?” he asked, smiling, but not feeling it. He was too worried about what was going to happen between him and Lucian.

Yeah, she didn’t buy that fake-ass smile for a single freaking second.

It appeared she was taking a field trip.

ASAP.

The men had somehow screwed this up, and now, the ladies would have to fix it.

Chapter Fifteen

The Water

Off The Ski Slope

Saturday One P.M.

T he biggest priority, at that moment, that Tori had was finding the victims to talk to them. In her world, it was so much easier if you located them to see what the hell happened. They might be able to shed some light onto the situation.

She knew that a dead spirit would only linger in so many places.

First and foremost, it would be with their bodies to watch over them as they figured out they were dead.

The next possibility was the actual scene of the crime where they lost their lives before they were moved.

Lastly, they wouldn’t be anywhere she could find them if they happened to see the light and crossed to go home.

For them as investigators, it was always paramount to cross as many victims and dead as possible, but when there was a murder, and it was dropped in her lap, she needed to hope that they were there for a little while.

It was urgent.

It was also how she solved cases.

Tori needed the dead.

Because the ski trail led to the bodies, that meant one thing. Genesis and Tori were taking a little downtime to get in some skiing before they headed to where the victims likely died upstream.

It was a ghost scavenger hunt of sorts.

Sure, it looked like they were screwing around, but in actuality, this was the main mission.

Find.

The.

Dead.

“Anything?” Genesis asked as she was sliding to a stop next to Tori.

The woman was focused on the trees not far away.

“They’re in there. My spirit guides are going in now. They’ll try to locate them, and then get them to come out.”
