“Sabrina’s . . . talking to someone.”
Damian frowned. “Who is there to talk to?”
“No one. But she is. I think she’s dreaming. She said the name Devin.”
Damian’s blood grew cold. How did she know about Devin? He stood and rushed through the
house. “What else did she say?”
“Something about disobeying you. Most of it was rather jumbled and I couldn’t understand her.
You’ve messed up her jaw pretty good.”
Damian threw open the door and stalked over to where Sabrina lay in a heap on the floor in the
corner. There were many places on her body where he’d removed her skin. A chain connected her clit
ring to the wall, in case she decided to try to escape.
He pushed her over onto her back, but she didn’t open her eyes. Damian studied her for a long
moment and then he kneeled in her blood and put his hand on her sticky forehead. She was in the
world between worlds, where he had maintained his connection to her while they were apart. But had
she somehow found Devin in there, too?
In a flash of light, he appeared in their midst. Both fell back and stared up at him in fear.
Damian smiled. “What are you doing here, Sabrina?”
Her eyes widened, and she struggled to move back to her knees. He swung his hand
across her face and she fell to the ground in a heap.
Devin lunged at him and tackled him to the ground. But only for a moment. The man
hadn’t been out of the room in a decade and didn’t have his old strength. Damian easily
pushed him away and pinned him to the ground. He laughed. “You really think you can
defeat me? The one who made you who you were?”
Devin struggled. “No, I can’t. But I can help those who are trying to defeat you. They
know my story now.”
Damian’s growled and he punched Devin in the face before standing and dragging
Sabrina next to him. “Destroy him.”
Sabrina shook her head, trembling. “I-I can’t.”
“Destroy him!” Damian grabbed her hand and put it on Devin’s head. “Destroy him!”
“No. P-p-please, don’t.”
Damian growled and pressed her forehead to Devin’s. “Do it.”
