weeks he’d spent with Sabrina. He’d never imagined marriage could be so wonderful. Though the

past month had been busy with Sabrina’s performances, they’d spent as much time together as they

could.

Chase chuckled. They’d spent a lot of time in bed and each time had been more and more mind-

blowing. When Sabrina had left this morning for class, her cheeks were still flushed from a

lovemaking session.

He glanced at the clock. His eleven o’clock meeting would be here soon.

Sydney Matthews had called him as promised on New Year’s Day, to set up a meeting with him.

Since Sabrina had class this morning, he thought it would be the best time. He didn’t want anything

getting in the way of his time with Sabrina.

He looked around his new home office in the back of the first floor of his and Sabrina’s new

brownstone. He’d hung a few maps on the wall but several paintings sat around the edge of the room,

waiting to be hung. He would get to them, eventually. The photo of Sabrina on their wedding day, of

course, had been the first photo on his desk, and he found himself lost in her beauty more than once

today. He might have to turn it over when he had to concentrate on a job. She distracted both his heart

and his body.

He ran his hand over the top of the new, heavy walnut desk. Neither he nor Richard had come to

any conclusion about what exactly had happened to his condo. That voice still haunted him, though he

wouldn’t admit it to anyone except Richard.

Chase smiled and picked up his phone. He tapped the photo app and scrolled through the pictures

he’d taken over the last few days. Each one made his heart pound with love for his precious wife. She

said this morning she hadn’t had a nightmare all month, which was unheard of since she’d come to

Boston. No nightmares. No stress. Just love. And it showed on her face. The most beautiful thing he

could imagine in the world was Sabrina happy and at peace.

God, he loved that woman. More than anything in the world, he loved her. He’d do anything to

make her smile. He’d stuck a note in her pointe shoes this morning for her to find when she got to the

studio and had Ethan surreptitiously snap a photo when she found it.

Someone knocked on the front door, and Mrs. Porter answered it. A moment later she popped her

head inside his office. “Sydney Matthews?”

Chase nodded and Mrs. Porter pushed open the door.
