“You’re meeting with her?” Sabrina asked, eyebrows raised.
Chase blinked, wondering what he’d agreed to. “I guess so.”
Sabrina frowned. “You guess?”
“Why are you upset?” He pulled her close and kissed her. “She must have asked when you were
walking over. I wasn’t thinking about anything but you.” Sabrina giggled as he nuzzled her neck. “I
can’t wait to get you out of this sexy dress.”
She wrapped her arms around his back. “How long do we have to stay?”
“’Til after midnight. Besides, didn’t you say you’ve never had a new year’s kiss?”
She nodded and grinned. “I’ve been looking forward to it all week.”
He laughed and leaned close. “Then when we get home, I’ll give you kisses in an entirely
different place and make you feel very, very good.”
Damian watched Sabrina and Chase embrace and jutted his jaw to one side. How could he have
underestimated their relationship? Their determination?
He wouldn’t do it again. Sydney would help ensure that.
She appeared at his side. “He’s agreed to meet.”
“Is he interested?”
“He’s head over heels in love with that girl,” she said with a sneer.
“Don’t frown. It’s unbecoming.”
She sighed and forced a neutral look on her face. “Have they seen you?”
“No. As I intended.” He wrapped his arms around Sydney’s waist. She was proving she was
worth the investment he’d put into her. “Shall we go?”
“Already?”
“You want to stay here or do you want to go back to the hotel room and let me fuck you until you
scream?”
She smiled. “Hotel room, definitely.”
Damian took one last glance at the disgustingly happy couple across the room. He’d planted the
seed to separate the two. If he was right, Chase’s presence kept him from connecting to Sabrina in her
dreams. He’d find out if he was right next week.
