Sabrina nodded. She couldn’t say it was a dream come true, because she never dared to dream
her life could turn out so wonderful.

THE NEXT MORNING , CHASE LEANED AGAINST THE HEADBOARD OF HIS BED AND SWIPED THROUGH THE
home listings the real estate agent had sent over. With his restrictions, there weren’t many to choose
from. He needed to move within the next few days, be close to the ballet studio—but in a good area
of the city—roomy enough for visitors and his equipment, but homey enough for a first home with his
beloved.
He glanced at his watch. The agent would be here soon, as would Sabrina and Ethan, and he
needed to choose a few to look at. Unfortunately, most of the empty places that fit his criteria were
condos, and he didn’t like the idea of living in a tall building with no street access. If he were
attacked again, hundreds of people could be hurt. He couldn’t risk that.
Too bad there weren’t detached homes in the city. The idea of moving across the river to
Cambridge near Richard tempted him, but it was a long commute for Sabrina and he’d miss the city.
It had to be a brownstone or at least an apartment in one. If he could find one. He didn’t want to
bring his new bride home to his mother’s house.
He swept his legs off the bed and headed toward the bathroom to shower.
Sabrina shifted nervously as she waited for Chase to come downstairs. She’d never looked for a
home. What thoughts could she possibly offer him about something she’d never done?
“Sabrina, it’s okay,” Ethan said quietly. “All he wants to know is if you like the place. You don’t
have to be a home expert. That’s why we have an agent.”
“How do I know what I like?”
Ethan chuckled. “You don’t know what you like?”
“What I like isn’t always . . . okay.”
He put his arm around her shoulder. “An opinion can’t be wrong. It’s just an opinion.”
She sighed and looked at the floor. “I guess.”
Footsteps made her raise her head, and her heart lifted at the sight of the man she loved walking
toward her, strong and confident. His dark hair was almost black with water and a few dark spots
speckled his long-sleeved green polo shirt. “You’re early.” He pulled her into his arms and kissed her
soundly. “I’m glad.”
