The door opened slowly and Neil peeked his head in. “What happened?” His gold-flecked eyes
were lit with concern.
Damian jutted out his jaw. “I had him and fucking Khyan showed up and let him escape.”
Neil’s brows knit together. “Khyan? I thought you banished him.”
Damian glowered at him. “You were dead, too, and Terric and I brought you back to life.
Someone restored him.”
Neil pushed open the door. “How did he know what you were doing?”
“How the fuck should I know? He shouldn’t be able to come back here.” Damian pulled his phone
out of his pocket to call Sydney but then dropped it on the table next to him. It wasn’t her fault Khyan
had shown up.
He inhaled deeply again, closing his eyes. “Chase is still alive.” He rubbed his thumb and
forefinger on his forehead. “It was a mistake to lose my temper. I look weak to Sabrina. I threatened
to kill him and he’s still alive.”
“Bring Khyan back here and deal with him.”
“I can’t without drawing attention to myself.”
“What are you going to do, then?”
“I don’t know yet.” He pressed his lips together. He’d have to let it go. For the moment. Once he
had the power, he would deal with Khyan. Severely. “For now, it’s back to the original plan. I’ll
continue to satisfy myself in Sabrina’s dreams until it’s time for the next step. She’s too devoted to
Chase to approach her in real life.” He glanced up at Neil, a wicked smile playing on his lips.
“Elder-Son weddings are big productions and take time to plan. There’s plenty of time to play.”
