Chase stared at Ethan. “I still don’t understand how that’s possible.”

Alex sighed. “He grew so powerful he was able to control the entire world. Well, the known

world. Remember Nero, who destroyed Rome? Vamar was controlling him. He controlled many of

“Holy shit,” Ethan murmured from across the room.

“Ja. Kronos confronted him and banished him to somewhere out of the known universe. Sebastian

thinks Vamar is trying to do it all over again.”

Chase had to process what Alex had told him. “Why doesn’t Kronos or the other Immortals stop

him?”

“Kronos will not get involved unless he has to. This is our world. A human world. You know the

Immortals allow us to make our own mistakes, no matter how big.”

Vamar? How can we win?”
