“Do you mind if I do a job with Sydney?” Chase asked later as they lay naked in bed after a long

lovemaking session.

Sabrina pursed her lips. “She said she needs your help, right?”

Chase nodded.

“I’ll miss you.”

He leaned over to kiss her soundly. “I’ll miss you, too. A lot.”

“And she won’t tell you what the job is?”

“She said it’s a retrieval but nothing else. It’s not unusual to keep details from people outside the

team.” Chase ran his hand absently up Sabrina’s torso, making her giggle. He smiled and leaned down

to kiss her nipple and her eyes closed. “She’s a man down and needs a full team.”

“Do you think it’s something bad?”

It was a good question. He didn’t think Sydney would do anything immoral, but he hadn’t seen her

in years, and she was dating that bastard Damian. So, who knew? “I can’t imagine her getting into

something questionable. But I told her I couldn’t leave until Sunday because of the Gathering. She

said it could wait a few days.”

“Then you should help.”

“Are you sure?”

Sabrina nodded. “It’s what you do, right? Help people?”

“Will you be okay without me?”

“I think I’ll survive.”

“It’s only a few days. If you start feeling . . . needs, please tell Ethan.”
