There’s running water. A brand-new plumbing system that’s both eco-friendly and tree-proof. There’s a music studio, because while I definitely don’t want to work for a record label anymore, I think I could get behind maybe fiddling around with my own stuff. Or giving guitar lessons, which is something that I’ve done for some of the younger wolves in the pack when they figured out who I was.

Either way, there’s plenty of space. A state-of-the-art kitchen. A hot tub, which overlooks the river in the backyard, on a beautiful, shaded porch. There’s a guest house in case Nolan wants to visit. A guest house with soundproof walls, so that he doesn’t have to hear us at night.

It literally has everything, and I made sure that it did.

Amara leans back against me. “If you’re not going to work as a hotshot music executive, isn’t all this money going to just run out?”

“Nope.” I kiss her cheek. “And you’re the only one I want to spend it on.”

“You’re going to spoil me.”

“I’m just making up for lost time.”

Amara laughs and moves away, walking toward the house to supervise where the movers are placing some of the furniture. I hear a truck door slam, and I see Nolan waving at me as he walks up the driveway. “Hey, man.”

“’Sup, brother.”

We both grin at that. While it hasn’t exactly been easy to be mated to Nolan’s sister, it hasn’t been bad, either.

We’re figuring it out. One day at a time. I’m perfectly happy with being part of his family. Being with Amara makes me feel like I always have somewhere to belong. It’s the same feeling that Nolan gave me for so many years, so I see our relationship as just… evolving. Now we belong together, the three of us, and I’m completely happy with that, because now I get the best of both of them. Selfishly, it’s great for me.

I think Nolan is still getting used to it.

“How’s the move going?”

“Good.” I nod at the trucks. “I think it’s basically all in there now.”

“Even the extra stuff you bought?”

I give him a look. “No. That stuff is still coming.”

He laughs. “Amara’s going to freak when she sees how much you got.”

“There’s like six rooms in this house. I wasn’t going to leave them empty.”

Nolan shakes his head at me. “You’re too bougie, man.”

“Just bougie enough, and I’m making sure that your sister lives in luxury.”

“As she deserves,” he sighs.

Damn right.

Nolan looks at my truck, nodding approvingly. “Glad the paint shine dimmed a little.”

“I know. Right? The Alpha just teased me about it yesterday, and…”

The rumble of a truck cuts us both off. I squint, then shuffle slightly as I realize whose truck that is.

Nolan frowns. “What’s the Alpha doing here?”

“No fucking clue, man.”

Amara walks back, putting her hand in mine. “Why is the Alpha getting out of his truck?”

“You tell us, babe.”

The three of us stare as the Alpha, Thorne, walks up. He smiles at Amara, then nods at Nolan and me. “You getting settled finally, Jasper?”
