“I guess your boys are eager to meet you.” He’s right. No matter how this goes down, we’ll be meeting our sons today.

“Zee, think about the twins. You’re going to see their little faces today, and I don’t care about the names. You can call them whatever you want.”

“If I have to shove your huge-headed sons out of my vagina, you better believe I’m naming them.” Okay, so we’re moving to the angry stage already. I’ve heard that the language can get pretty colorful when a woman is in labor. I won’t take it personally.

“You got it, beautiful.”

The second we pull up outside the hospital. I’m relieved to see the doctor standing next to an orderly with a wheelchair. Hunter comes to a grinding halt before jumping out and opening the door. It takes both of us to move her as carefully as possible, but as soon as she’s in the wheelchair, we’re moving. The doctor asks me all kinds of questions about when her water broke and how far apart are her contractions.

I’m in a daze. “Mr. Danford, how far apart are her contractions?”

Zee’s cry kicks my brain into gear. “She said they aren’t stopping, so there’s no time in between.”

“Okay. We’ll get her upstairs and find out what’s going on with these babies.”

“We’re here, beautiful. The doctor is going to give you all the good drugs to take the pain away.”

She glares at me. My wife’s loving gaze has been replaced by something much darker. “This is all your fault, Cooper Danford. Damn you and your magical penis all the way to hell!”

Wow! I’m not going to lie, I am taking this pretty personally.

The OB rests her hand on my arm. “Don’t worry, Mr. Danford, she doesn’t mean it.”

“I do mean it! My vagina is going to be broken, and it’s all because I couldn’t stay away from the wondrous Titan cock. Oh God, it hurts.”

“I promise she’ll like you again later.”

“Just take care of her, Doc. She’s my whole world.”

Chapter Sixteen

“We’re never having sex again, do you hear me?” God, he’s annoying. These drugs aren’t kicking in fast enough, and Coop is trying to soothe me, but the things I usually love make me want to rip his nuts off.

“I hear you. The whole hospital probably heard that.” I know he’s going for levity, but I seriously need Faith to get here. She knows what do to when I’m upset or sore or hormonal.

“Where the hell is Faith?”

“She went to get your bag from the house. She’ll be here any second.” He looks to the OB, who’s all up in my cooch right now.

“Well, Zoey, it seems we’re going to have a vaginal delivery today.”

Coop is about to move down to see what she’s looking at, but I grab his arm with all the strength I can muster. “Do not look down there. It will put you off me for life.”

“You just said we’re never having sex again, what do I have to lose?” He gives me a wink and that stupid panty-melting grin that got me in trouble in the first place.

“Your balls, Cooper. You have your balls to lose if you take a step closer to lady town. Now stay in line with my head, or you’re getting thrown out of this room.”

“Well, okay, then. Point taken. Is there anything I can do for you, anything I can get for you?”

“Firstly, you can stop pawing my hair like I’m a stray dog. And second, you can go down the hall and get a vasectomy. And while you’re there, can you please, for the love of God, find Faith?”

“That’s a hard no on the snip, but I’ll go and see if Faith has arrived yet.”

“If you could wait a moment, we need to discuss what’s happening right now,” the doctor says with solemnity in her voice.

“Okay.” I take Zee’s hand in mine, anguished by how much pain she’s in.
