She wondered how she and Roam should handle the living situation. Blake had just gotten settled in their house. She wanted to be there for Roam but also didn’t want Blake to feel like she was being uprooted again. Kids were resilient but Blake had been so many places lately that Sprite worried about her.
Maybe she and Roam could discuss this at some point.
The door opened and Brew returned along with Roam, Baron and another man.
“Let me see the newest Bluff Creek Brotherhood legacy,” he said, walking toward her.
“Sprite, this is Bootstrap, President of our Texas Chapter. He, along with my brother and some prospects, brought us a couple bikes so I could take a ride and get my head on straight.”
Bootstrap leaned closer to look at Matthew. “He’s a cutie. If I wash my hands, will you let me hold him, baby girl?”
“She’s not your baby girl. She’s mine, Bootstrap,” Roam growled.
Holy Hotness, Roam’s voice when he growled that had her panties dampening. They were hours from bed and all Sprite could think about is having Roam between her thighs. So not cool when his mom and dad were in the room.
“Sorry. No offense. You Kansas guys don’t waste any time claiming women, do you?”
He walked over to the sink and washed his hands.
ROAM LOOKED IN SPRITE’S eyes when he claimed her in front of Bootstrap and his family. Heat and what he assumed was pleasure shone through. He wanted everyone to know she was his. He’d never remotely felt this way about Shanna. He’d been doing his duty when he got her pregnant the second time. He wouldn’t change what he’d done because he wouldn’t have Grant, Casper and Georgia if he did, and they were his life. Now he had Matthew, Sprite, Blake and Oakley too.
He was heartily glad he built a big house because otherwise, he’d be calling the construction company back for an addition. With the number of bedrooms he’d had put in the house, every child could have their own room along with play space, office and entertaining space.
He stood by his brother. He was closest to War because he was his twin, but he was close to all his siblings. He’d been excited that Gage, now Brew, had found his calling at their Texas Chapter. But it also didn’t mean he’d miss out on a chance to give his brother a little crap.
“Hey, Brew, when are you going to find a woman and settle down?” Roam asked.
There was no other way to describe the look Brew gave him other than fire shooting out of his eyes. Roam bit back a grin and waited for his mom to take the bait.
“You know, that’s a good point, Roam. Brew, are you dating anyone special?”
Brew walked closer and pulled Regina in for a hug.
“Nope, Mom. You and Dad set the bar so high, I’m having a hard time finding a woman like that.”
“Maybe if you quit diving into easy pussy, you’d get a better result,” Dodge said as he walked in the door.
Laughter filled the room. Roam greeted Dodge with a hug and back slap.
“Of course, if Bear’s daughter was here, you’d be paying for saying a swear word,” Baron said.
“Since when is pussy a swear word? It’s an homage to the female seat of power. Let’s face it, we do so much for pussy.”
Brew shoved Dodge. “I thought you just said I shouldn’t keep diving into pussy. Why can you but I can’t?”
“I didn’t say pussy. I said easy pussy. If you want a woman who will be someone you can have a life with, then you need to set your bar higher,” Dodge said, hugging Regina and shaking Baron’s hand.
“I’m sorry, Dodge. Do you have an ol’ lady that I haven’t met yet or even someone you have taken on a date?”
“No but I’m closer than you to finding one.”
“I’m just going to say thank goodness my kid is little because if the p word was his first word, you guys would pay,” Roam threatened.
Laughter rolled through the room and the last little bit of tension left Roam’s shoulders. His family had his back and his kids. Despite the horrible situation Shanna had put them in, his son was safe in his family’s arms and he was going to stay that way.
Chapter Twenty-One
Sprite sat outside the courtroom with Brew. She was holding Matthew and was outside the courtroom only because Roam didn’t want Matthew anywhere Shanna could see him. Sprite wanted to support Roam, but he didn’t want to rile Shanna up seeing him with someone else. Best-case scenario is she would be held without bail until her trial. The lawyer said it was likely to happen because she had multiple charges.
