“He is seventeen years old. That’s considered old enough to know the risk of getting caught as a spy, but he did it anyway.”

“Then punish him in other ways, but don’t kill him! Please.”

The demon didn’t say anything.

She panicked as she couldn’t think of a way to stop him. He was a brutal savage, and he would kill that boy as per the law of the Kabali clan. There was nothing and no one who could stop him.

Suddenly, she thought of something. “If you spare that boy’s life, I… I will accept you as my husband.”

“I am already your husband,” he said.

“But I didn’t accept you willingly!” she reminded. “If you spare the boy’s life, I will accept you as my husband willingly…”

She would never accept the demon as her husband, but the only thing she could think of right then to negotiate with the demon was her body. She knew the demon desired her.

“I… will let you touch me,” she said.

The demon’s grey eyes flashed. “I already touched you many times.”

Her cheeks heated angrily at his words, but she kept her temper in control.

“I meant I will give you my consent to touch me. I won’t fight you when you decide to… consummate our marriage.”

But they both knew he could touch her and take her anytime as he wished and that there was no need for him to care for her consent if and when he decided to consummate the marriage.

“I will touch you, too,” she added quickly.

His eyes darkened. “But I am a savage demon whom you hate. And you would rather die than touch me again.”

Her face was on fire as she recalled the words she had shouted at him a few nights ago.

“I was angry at that time,” she replied hurriedly. “But now, I promise, I will touch you and do whatever you want.” She held his eyes. “I am well experienced in the art of lovemaking. I will give you a blowjob and do things that will blow your mind with pleasure.”

Belatedly, she realized that her lies might make him angry as it would imply that she wasn’t the pure bride that the Kabalis sought.

But he didn’t look pissed. He folded his hands on his massive chest while his grey eyes bore into hers. “The last time you made such a promise, I was drugged and nearly killed by your brothers.”

Her face flushed at the reminder.

“This time, I’ll give you my word that there is no trickery involved,” she said.

He raised an eyebrow. “Your word?”

“Yes,” she replied. “I promise to do all the things I said. I will keep my word this time, no matter what.”

“No matter what?”

“Yes… no matter what.”

She desperately hoped he believed her.

“S-so you will spare that boy’s life?” she asked.

He watched her with glittering grey eyes.

“Yes, but he will still receive punishment,” he stated.

Relief swept through her that the boy wouldn’t be executed.
