Jax laughs, and Sully lifts his brow before he looks over to Jax, "So, when are we leaving?"
"Coach wanted us as soon as we could, and it would be nice to see where we’re going to be living before, it gets crazy with the team."
"Yeah, I agree; Macie?" Sully looks to me.
"I never unpacked; it’s getting Kenny to let me go."
"You don’t need to worry about that, he’ll let you go without a problem." Jax holds that dangerous look in his eyes, knowing he’s done something.
"Okay." I whisper cautiously.
"Alright, then let’s get packing." Sully laughs.
"Um, don’t we need to tell two people that we are leaving." I ask, and Jax hums a laugh, "Yeah, except my dad already knew this was coming, it’s your mother we need to worry about."
I roll my eyes with that before I say, "Well, it really doesn’t matter, I’m leaving and I’m an adult now."
"Alright then."
After leaving Sully's, the closer I got home, my stomach twisted, I don’t even want to face my mother right now.
And as we pull into the driveway, before I get out and ask, "So, how are we getting there?"
"Driving, I’m going to take my truck so I can take the bikes too."
"What about my car?"
"We’ll come back and get it."
"Promise?"
He nods as he takes a step towards me, curling his fingers around the nape of my neck as he looks down at me, "I promise Angel, I’ll put it in the garage, and come back once we get settled. Just take what you need for now."
"Okay."
The garage door to the house opens and Paul walks out, "You going to tell me how that call went or are you avoiding it because they shut you down?"
"I wasn’t shut down." Jax smirks.
Paul’s face lights up and he and Jax share that father/son, but also, Coach and player celebration. Paul is straight up with Jax and so is Jax with Paul, and they do have a good relationship, I think.
"When do you go?" Paul asks and Jax answers, honestly, "Morning."
Paul’s eyes widen and he looks to me.
"Yeah, I know." I already know why he looked at me.
"Macie, she’s calmed down about it and is coming around." Paul defends her.
I roll my eyes as I take a deep breath, letting it out with a sigh, "Yeah, I’ll believe it when I see it, where is she?" Just getting the fuck over with it, that I am out of here.
"Living room." I nod and look to Jax, "I’ll be back."
He nods in response, catching I need to do this alone, before I make my way inside.
Finding her on the couch, reading her book, she sees me walking in, putting her book down.
"I need to tell you something, actually a lot, but we’ll see how far we get." I snap, not in the mood for this shit.
