"Alright, now, we can move the fuck on from this shit."

"Well... Sort of."

He looks over and lifts his brow.

"So that credit card..." His eyes widen as his lips part before they close again and his jaw clenches.

"Macie!"

I giggle, "Don't ever lie to me again, or it will be twice as bad."

"Fair is fair; You hurt me, I hurt your pocket."

He laughs loudly, echoing around in the car, "You're hateful."

"Yeah, well."

"Alright, fair is fair. But how much?"

My lips roll between my teeth biting my laugh as my brows furrow, "Five thousand."

"Macie!"

Now it's my turn to laugh out loud, "My heels are expensive."

"Fuck Macie."

"Oh, you'll get it back in one check, pro goalie." I elbow him and we both share a good brother, sister laugh.

"I'll pay you back." I whisper.

He shakes his head, "Don't worry about it, Macie, just keep doing you."

I nod and he pulls into the skating rink, only a few early birds here. So we get out and make our way into the skating rink.

As my brother gets himself ready, I go out on the ice after putting my skates on, and drag the goalie net out onto the ice. Making sure the pegs are properly placed before I go grab a bucket of pucks. I help Koda get his leg pads on; those can be so fun to do alone, so I always tend to help when I can.

We both get out on the ice and as he does a few stretches I dump the bucket of pucks in front of him a little distance between us before I start lining them up, across the ice, wall to wall.

"Alright Mac let's see if you still have it."

I smile, taking my stick in both hands, as I skate to the first puck and he gets into position, and I start.

My stick slaps the puck towards my brother and of course he blocks it, but I skate backwards, continuing to slap the pucks in a steady rhythm, one after the other, until, I'm across the ice. Finishing with the last puck, I give a little extra, and I send the puck into the lower right corner, the ding from the metal fills the air before the puck bounces into the net.

"Ha! I gotcha!"

"That was a good shot." He laughs as he shoves all the pucks back to me and I line them up again.

I do this over and over, not getting any pucks into the net again, that was a lucky shot. Enjoying myself out here with Koda like I used to.

The cracking sound of a stick hitting against a puck rings out behind me before I see a puck fly towards Koda, but he catches the puck.

I spin around as Jax skates up to us, the rest of the team not far behind him, all ready for practice; Damn, we’ve been out here that long.

I lean against my stick and watch him skate up to me. My smile curling more, and more the closer he gets to me.

"I’m a little surprised to see you so happy this early in the morning." He chuckles.
