Page 78 of Puck It!

I tilt my head with my tight smile before my words hiss, "Bite me."

He reaches out, his gloved hand curling around my back as he pulls me tight against him. Leaning down, he bites my neck hard, ripping a yelp from my throat, huffing his smile against my skin before pressing a kiss over the sting on my neck, "Thanks for the text."

"You’re welcome." On the ride to the rink, I sent him a text letting him know I was with Koda, only right to let him know where I was. I’m not that evil.

"So, I made a lucky shot and sank that sucker in there." I giggle and he smiles his laugh before he nods towards Koda, giving me that playful grin.

"Two at once?" I whisper and he nods.

We both look to Koda and as soon as he catches our gaze on him, he knows what’s coming.

He gets into position as Jax and I start slapping pucks towards him, trying to hold my laugh but I can’t. Jax moves through the pucks in seconds, way faster than I can get through a few, before they have all been shot at my brother, some making their way in the net; Not from me of course.

Koda finally joins us, joining in on our laugh, not the first time we’ve done this, "Thanks Macie."

I shoot my brother a smile with my words, "Thank you, we needed this."

I shoot him a wink and he nods, before he skates away, joining the team, for his first practice with them and I look up meeting Jax’s gaze on me and I smile.

"You okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, I’m great; I’m going to go check out where I will be performing, maybe practice a little there too. See you later?"

He searches my eyes, and I can tell he is searching for my lie, but I’m not telling one, I’m great, it is what it is, and I’m moving on, like I have been doing.

"Alright, I’ll see you later." He slides his hand from his glove before he cups my cheek in the palm of his hand and my eyes flutter as I lean into his warmth.

He leans down and meets my lips with a meaningful kiss, his hand slides to the back of my head, intertwining his fingers through my hair, deepening our kiss.

He leaves my lips as fast as he meets them, "See you later, Angel?"

"Have a good practice." I say to him as his hand slides from my cheek.

"You too." He skates away and I skate off the ice.

Taking my skates off I make my way to the parking lot; I had Jax bring my car so I could go to practice while they practiced, Koda can take them all home.

Getting into my car, I make my way to the address I plugged into the GPS.

Navigating my way through unknown territory, I still find my way.

Making it inside, after entering the code I was provided to use at the backdoor, I look around before I make my way to the main stage; Oh, wow!

My stomach rises to my throat seeing the silk already hanging, ready for me, but the stadium, so many chairs, so many that could hold so many people; I think I might be sick.

I swallow hard before I take a deep breath as my eyes close. Quit psyching yourself out Macie.

I find the radio and connect it to my phone, turning on some music, setting my bag down, I slip out of my shoes before walking over to the silks.

Wrapping my hand around them, I tug a good bit, always checking my silks, never assuming they will hold from the start. Jumping up, allowing the silks to hold my weight, I’ve ensured I’m good.

I start some stretching tricks, calming my mind so I can solely focus on this and not the world around me. Sucking in a few deep breaths, calming my breathing, I start wrapping myself in my silk as I work my way up them.

Running through my routine, as my silks slide against the skin on my thighs, my arms, my wrists. I am able to finally calm my mind. I lose myself in it, not paying attention to the time or anything around me or my darkest secrets that have recently slapped me in the face.

I feel none of it and only feel what I am doing.
