“Death couldn’t pull me away.”

I close my eyes and take a deep breath, peace washing over me.

“Good.” I exit the room with Crow in tow. “Now let’s kick the shit out of this disease.”

“That’s my girl.”

We both chuckle then head out leaving that place that changed the course of all our lives behind.

Chapter 41

KADRA

ONE DAY

“Forever?” – K

It has never been easy to say sorry for me. I guess my pride always got the best of me but here I am knocking on her door waiting for her to let me in. I used to think about this day for long nights on end. I would torment myself thinking of all the ways this moment could go wrong.

He’s silent for a long moment before he speaks. “She’s been waiting for you.”

She’s been waiting for you…

Thump.

Thump.

My nerves calm and my heart beats settle.

You can do this, Kadra…

“Benjamin.” I greet my sister’s bodyguard.

“You sound just like her, ya know.” The man grins before he steps aside and lets me in.

Stepping inside, I take in the luxurious home before me and smile. This place fits them. The décor and the color palette reminds me so much of my sister. Whereas Mila loved bright colors and I only cared for black— Arianna loved white.

God, look at all she has now. A loving husband. Two beautiful children. A warm home.

“Sirius…”
