Vitali’s eyes grow wide with surprise and then drunk with desire, with need, and he grips my shirt in his clutches, meeting me halfway. “If you’re going to kiss me, love. Kiss me like you mean it,” Then he takes my lips in his, kissing me senseless until I’m delirious with the need for more of him.
Until I don’t know where he ends, and I begin.
At this moment with his lips on mine, we’re one.
And all I can think about is how nothing has ever felt like home. Not really. Hell, maybe. That I know all too well. But home?
I never felt that until this moment right here.
Because kissing Vitali Solonik feels like coming home.
It feels as if he is breathing life back into my body.
Like flowers blooming after a long winter.
That’s how earth-shattering this moment feels.
And I savor it.
I held onto him harder, not wanting the moment to end.
Wanting for us to stay this way forever just in case there is no tomorrow for us.
And if there is no tomorrow for us I hope while I’m in his arms that I get to meet him again in my next life.
Because in every lifetime I’ll search for him like the sea searches for the sand and the salt.
This kiss proves what I’ve been running for all these years.
There’s no one else for me. There has never been anyone else but my first.
My first kiss.
My first love.
Vitali.
Chapter 25
KADRA
DREAM MAN
“You are too good to be true.” – K
My lips are still tingling from the kiss even half an hour later as I walk towards the entrance of a cozy-looking Mexican restaurant Vitali insisted we stop at. I didn’t expect our time today to last as long as it had but after the museum the hours flew by and it’s now evening.
To my utter embarrassment my stomach started to grumble while we looked at the last pieces at the exhibition and Vitali of course noticed and next thing I knew he was ushering me out of the museum and drove us here.
To a place that doesn’t look like a pretentious five-star restaurant but more down to earth. It has a warm feel to it. Kind of noisy too.
La Esquina de Doña Lola.
It’s packed tonight. That I’m not fond of but it meant something to take me here so I’m trying to suppress my anti-social tendencies. At least for tonight.
“Table for one?” A slightly accented voice makes me turn to my left to find a stunning woman with long curly brown hair that falls to her back, brown eyes that sparkle and a wide smile. She’s beautiful. Her exotic features make me believe she’s Latino but I could be wrong.
Gripping my handbag tighter, I look behind me and there’s still no Vitali. There was no parking near the entrance of the restaurant. Vitali went to find parking further away after I assured him I would be fine waiting for him by the entrance. It’s adorable how the man worries about my safety when he’s aware of the kind of things I’ve done. I can handle myself. I’ve been doing it for a long time yet he still worries. That man…
