She came into this world kicking up a storm and I couldn’t be happier. All I want for my kids is to grow up strong and take on the world without being afraid. Always knowing that we’ll only be a few steps behind to catch them if they fall.
“She has your eyes and Azariel!” Ella points with a small smile on her face.
Even though Raiza is only a few hours old, she opened her eyes and has managed to keep them open long enough for everyone to see those stormy grays that are identical to mine and my boy’s. “She does.”
“Ella!” I turned to find Arianna barreling down on us. “Do you want to come inside and keep Aunt Kadra company?” Ella touches her father’s cheeks before asking. “May I, Daddy?”
Sebastian nods, hands his son to Riagan, and puts Ella down on the floor. The tiny girl with wild black curls runs off after her mother. “So polite,” I mutter.
Kenton’s eyes gleam as he watches his wife and daughter head toward my wife’s hospital room. “She gets it from her mother.”
Riagan snorts, probably thinking the same thing I am.
We all know that’s a lie.
There’s nothing polite about that woman. Hell, there’s nothing polite about the president when the cameras are off.
A sound catches my eye, and I grin when I see my brother heading my way with his infant in his hands and my niece Reyna walking at their side. My niece is busy blowing raspberries in her little sibling’s belly. The baby was laughing so hard that he could barely draw in a breath. “I like this, you know,” Vladimir says as soon as he reaches my side.
Raiza makes a cute baby sound that makes my heart melt. My girl has had her little hand wrapped around my finger since she took her first breath. “What?” I kiss my baby’s head where she has a few brown hairs the same shade as her mother.
She will be just as beautiful as her mom and that will be hell for me. I’m already sharpening my knives ready to deal with the little assholes that try to touch my girl.
“Our blended family.” Vitali drawls looking at every man here. “This is the future right here. This is our legacy.”
Four cities.
Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, and New York.
Cities that have been at war over territory and power for years and now they’re one. All it took was three princesses to unite them.
Well… two princesses and one very angry queen.
My mouth turns up in a grin.
Looking down at my baby girl, I smile when she burps adorably before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep. Just like her mother, this one.
I’d been holding her all night. She is a daddy’s girl, unlike her big brother, who is neutral.
Crow rounds us and leans down to sniff loudly. “Your baby smells good.”
Moving Raiza away from his reach, I spat. “Fuck off.”
“Now watch your mouth when you’re holding my baby.” He says looking offended and way too serious. His baby. Since the second Raiza was born he has been crowding her much to my dismay. If it weren’t for the fact that Kadra loves him like a brother he would’ve been ten feet under. “Let me hold her.” He extends his arms my way which I slap away, before turning in the other direction getting my baby as far as possible from the six-foot-five mental head case.
Leaving the others behind as well, I make my way toward my wife’s hospital room before the nurses give me shit for keeping Raiza outside the room for too long.
As soon as I enter the room, a smile spreads on my face when I see my wife lying in the hospital bed with my son sleeping in her arms and her two sisters by her side.
That’s all she’s ever wanted.
It’s all she deserves.
A happily ever after and fuck me if it doesn’t feel good knowing I’m the one that gave it to her.
In turn, she gave me life.
Her love and my two beautiful children make everything that I’ve been through worth it.
