“What the fuck happened?” I asked Chase.

“That happened,” he growled, nodding his head toward a couple of cops holding a man in cuffs.

The cops dragged the man out of the club, cursing and fighting them the whole way.

People are fucking morons.

“You’ll need to be a little more specific. What on earth started the amount of shit that required the seven of us to neutralize it?”

“Twelve, actually. Another bouncer and four cops. That asshole is one of the Lacey recruits,” Seb spat.

“Of course, it was,” Cam growled. “What the fuck did he do?”

“He hauled off and smacked a girl who refused his advances. A guy that was near him delivered a punch of his own and they started fighting. They bumped into the people around them, nearly knocking some of them down and from there, it just snowballed. We decided it was better to just close down for the night. Tempers are high, the staff are stressed and exhausted, and I think most of us would prefer to go home,” Chase sighed.

“It sounds like it’s a good thing a few of us happened to be there this evening,” Harrison said.

“It sure was. We never would have gotten control otherwise,” Seb agreed. “Jason, Raven is with Leah in your room. I hope you don’t mind that we sent her there.”

“Not at all. I was under strict orders to send Raven… and Sasha… to my room.”

All seven of us started laughing at the absurdity of that idea.

“Taking me out of a good old-fashioned brawl? That was never going to fucking happen.”

“And that’s exactly what I told her before I came out. You guys handed out drink vouchers?”

“Some, yes,” Marc, one of the bouncers, answered as he joined the group. “Most of the members turned them down, recognizing how rare it is that you close down the club. They also aren’t blind and took full notice of the clusterfuck that just happened.”

“Guys? Is everything okay?” Leah asked.

We turned to see Leah walk up with Raven right behind her.

“Yeah, where is everyone?”

“It’s a long story, Raven. Let’s go home,” Chase said, wrapping his arm around her.

“It’s not a long story,” Sasha chuckled. “You just want to take her home and fuck her.”

Raven’s face flamed and Leah punched Sasha’s arm, hard enough to make her wince. That made everyone laugh, lightening the mood. We all gathered our things and headed out for the night.

“So, what happened?”

“Just assholes being assholes, baby girl,” I said, helping her into the car.

“Yeah, well, it looks like maybe you had to throw a punch or two,” she said, raising my hand to her lips, kissing my reddened knuckles.

“It’s not a big deal. I avoided more than I gave.”

I looked over at her, grateful that she’d gotten us off the dancefloor before the fight broke out. There’s no telling what I would have done if something had happened to her.

LEAH

? ?? Let me into your soul… ???

I had been Jason’s sub for about eight months. During those eight months, my confusion had grown as I tried to determine what we were. In many ways, we behaved like a normal couple. We went on dates, we played at the club, and we often spent our nights together. I had long since decided that I didn’t want to be just his sub. I was all in with him. My issue was not being able to get him to talk to me. I was almost certain that he felt the same way, but he wouldn’t admit it.

I was at a crossroads. If he was still only interested in me as a sub, then I was fairly certain I needed to end things. I was irrevocably in love with him and it was becoming too painful to continue this way. Leaving him meant upending my entire life. Club Inhibition had become a very significant part of my life. Though I spent time with Sasha and Raven outside of the club, we were there more often than not. I wouldn’t be able to bear being in the same place, seeing him with other subs. I would have to find a different club or just walk away from the lifestyle completely. Neither of those were acceptable options for me.
