I grin at her words, which hold no heat, just warmth and laughter, as her father chuckles.

Josy states, “Hey, I’m not the bratty one, Ollie is….”

While Ollie says, “I’m totally the bratty one but you love me anyway.”

I grin wide as Brook laughs at her brother and sister, before looking back my way, adoration shining on her face.

My eyes take her in. Her light brown hair is curled around her shoulders, the pink strands standing out, suiting her. She's in her usual jeans, cowgirl boots, and flowy top—the clothes she normally wears—not the mini dress from the day we met.

Fuck me, she is beautiful.

I grin at her, crooking my finger in a come here motion, and she walks straight into my arms, her face going to the crook of my neck. I sigh in contentment, holding her tight to me, not giving a shit about our audience.

Two months, and I still need her like I need air to breathe; she’s quickly become my world.

I place my nose on the top of her head, and coconut fills my senses, causing my body to relax. I whisper, "I missed you, Angel."

She leans back, placing her chin on my chest. She looks up at me from underneath those long eyelashes, before she gently runs her fingers over my crooked nose, which I have broken a few times during my fights. I smile at her.

She smiles back and whispers, "I missed you, too," making my smile turn into a grin, loving her admittance. I lean forward, gently kiss her lips, and then place my face into the crook of her neck, needing her close.

"Geez, you'd think they were apart for months," Sniper snips, breaking our moment, and I groan, making Brook giggle a little, and then pull out of my hold.

I scowl.

She walks over to the fucker and kisses his cheek, causing him to grab his heart and state, "You just stole my heart, baby. You sure you want Tech over me?"

I walk over and smack his head again, causing everyone to laugh as I pull my girl back into my arms.

Her hands go to my arms that are wrapped around her small waist, her head leaning against my chest, and I say, "Keep your eyes off my girl, brother, or you and me will be doing a round or two in the ring."

Sniper shrugs. "I think she's worth the fight."

I narrow my eyes at him, the glint in his eyes showing through, happy he's winding me up.

Mrs. Summers calls, "Alright everyone, the grill is ready," saving his ass from a beatdown, and he knows it, too.

He claps his hands, rubbing them together, before running off with the kids and dogs following. He shouts over his shoulder, "Don't worry, Brooky, I'll win your heart…."

Mr. Summers laughs, and I growl, scowling at Sniper's disappearing form.

Jackass.

I feel a light kiss on my jaw, gaining my attention, and I smile but soon scowl when my girl pulls out of my arms. She grabs my hand, and I ask, "Who said you could leave my arms? I wasn't done yet."

She grins, her whole face lighting up, and everything seems right in the world now. In that moment, it’s just her and I, as her father watches on like he's planning her wedding.

He probably is, to be fair. Mr. Summers is not an ordinary father, that's for sure.

"Come on, you two, let's go eat," he says as I hear the wooden porch creak as he leaves us. I nod, keeping my eyes on my girl as she pulls me toward the farmhouse, my feelings suddenly slamming into me.

Fuck, I'm in love with her….

I grin, watching Ollie and Sniper play fight in the yard, the sun setting behind them. Momma and I had already cleaned up after dinner, which was full of laughs. Now, we're all sitting back and enjoying the evening before James and Sniper have to leave.
