I snort.

Too little, too fucking late for that shit.

After I missed that shit with Hairy, I spent weeks going over archived footage going way back. Tats was fucking neglected by everyone in this room, all because his birth momma was a clubwhore.

They treated him differently and still do, so he doesn't attend club events unless ordered to by Snake. Fuck, his own father ensured he didn't become a council brother until after he thought his own son could be trusted, all because he’d fucked a clubwhore who tried to trap him—he was making his son pay for his own mistakes. Tats was raised by his dad’s old lady since childhood, yet the club still treats him like an outcast.

It's pathetic.

I sigh and I rasp, "I'm spending the afternoon with my girl and her family."

Sniper cuts in, "And me, too. Her daddy wanted to set Brook and me up because, you know, I'm so fucking pretty."

I growl and smack his head at the thought of her being with him, making him chuckle and the brothers laugh.

I look at Momma, whose face is still red, and say, " It's one dinner, Momma. I'll see you in a few hours."

She shakes her head as Dad whispers in her ear, and I turn, lifting my hand to the brothers and their women, then heading out to my bike.

I'm excited to get my girl on the back of it later–just her and I….

Ten minutes later, Sniper and I pull up in front of the Summers’ farmhouse, and Mr. Summers steps out the front door to stand on the porch.

He grins. "Sniper, my boy, it's good to see you."

I smile as Sniper replies, "It's good to see you, Mr. Summers." My smile soon disappears with his next words. "I thought I'd come win your daughter over, you know, being the better club brother and all."

Mr. Summers grins but then laughs when I lean over and smack the back of Sniper's head, making him smirk at me.

"Keep your eyes off my girl."

He grins wide at my statement, making me shake my head, before a squeal can be heard from the porch.

I turn my head to see Josy running my way, shouting, "Tech!” with all the dogs following.

I smile wide, and climb off my bike in time to catch her. Shadow runs around my feet, and then jumps up at Sniper, who shows her affection.

Shadow’s pups follow her, although can you call them pups when they're seven years old?

Josy squeezes my neck, hugging me, and I hold her tight as Ollie jumps down the five porch steps in one go, then tucks and rolls, making his father curse.

Fucking daredevil.

Ollie rushes my way, slamming into me with all his might, wrapping his arms around my waist. I grin as I look at Mr. Summers.

He smiles, nodding in approval, before I look down at Josy.

"How was school, Jose?" I ask with a smile.

She smiles back, answering excitedly, "Good, I got first place in track."

I grin. "That is awesome, darling."

Kissing her head, I put her down so she could run to Sniper, who was already being tackled by Ollie.

"What am I, chopped liver?" her angelic voice washes over me, and tingles rush through me, my stomach tightening. I look behind me and make eye contact with my girl's gorgeous light brown ones, and my heart skips a beat.

She smiles at me, tilting her head. “Haven’t seen you since yesterday, and yet my bratty siblings get all the attention.”
