“Ciao bella,” I greet her, stopping in front of the reception desk.
“Luca,” she lifts her eyes from the books she’s stacking into two neat piles on her desk. “What are you doing here?”
She looks a little different than usual and I realize it’s because she’s wearing glasses. “I just wanted to see you,” I say, unable to take my eyes off of her. She’s so beautiful, but there’s more to it than that. All of a sudden, a strange sense of deja-vu invades my mind, as if we’d done this before.
I mean, I’ve come to the library a couple of times before meeting Lakyn, so maybe she was on duty. But it’s more than that and I wonder what my mind is trying to tell me.
“I brought you lunch,” I say, showing her the paper bag with our sandwiches and dismissing my odd thoughts.
Since we had our first date, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Lakyn and maybe this is what my brain is trying to tell me. There’s no other explanation, because I’ve never brought her lunch here at work and I don’t think I ever even spoke to her before we went out to dinner.
Her smile is laced with uncertainty. “That’s so kind of you, babe,” she says, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. “But I just started my shift and I doubt my boss would be ok with me taking a break.”
I grab her hand, the need to touch her too strong to resist. “I’m here to study,” I say, louder than necessary. “I can’t find some of the books I need for my next exam. I’m new here and it would be so great if you could help me.”
I drag Lakyn out from behind the reception desk, lacing my fingers through hers.
“There,” I smile. “Now you’re helping a patron find some books and get situated for a study session. There’s nothing wrong if he happened to offer you something to eat, right?”
CHAPTER 4
CONFESSIONS
LUCA
“What class are you studying for?” Lakyn asks, her voice as loud as mine, no doubt for her boss’s benefit in case she’s within earshot.
I think about it for a second.
I didn’t come here to hook up with her, but I’m dying to kiss Lakyn, so I want somewhere that isn’t too crowded.
“Ancient Greek Literature,” I offer, remembering that that’s way in the back of the main room on this floor.
Aside from a couple of study rooms, there’s nothing there to attract people, unless they’re genuinely taking Ancient Greek.
I let Lakyn walk in front of me, to keep up the charade that she’s helping me.
I don’t let go of her hand and I’d be lying if I said that I’m not enjoying the sight of her tight ass in the dark gray pencil skirt she’s wearing today.
“Here,” Lakyn says, showing me to a small round table right at the back of the ancient literatures section.
“Grazie,” I smile, dropping the bag with the food on the table and advancing toward her, until her back hits the shelf closest to the wall.
My lips find hers and for a long moment, I forget where we are and kiss her with everything I have.
Our tongues are tangled in a hot caress and I close the distance between us, pressing her against the shelf with my body.
“Mi sei mancata (I missed you),” I whisper against her lips, my hands traveling down her shoulders, tracing the neckline of her silky blouse to stop at her full, perfect tits.
“Luca,”
I think it’s meant like a protest and a warning, but the sound of my name on her lips goes straight to my cock and I cup one of her breasts. Squeezing it lightly. “Did you miss me?”
I don’t wait for an answer, as my lips glide down the delicate column of her neck, stopping at the base of it, where I know she loves being kissed.
“I did,” she whispers. “The other night was?—”
I lift my head to look at her, the same way I did in her bed, when I was about to take her for the first time.
