He gave her a firm nod. “I was pleasantly surprised when I caught you checking me out, yesterday.”

A giggle escaped her, and she slapped her free hand over her mouth.

“Now, that’s a lovely sound. I totally intend to have you giggling some more before I let you off my lap.” The grin he sent her way was so wicked, she almost choked on her saliva. After slapping her back a few times and making sure she was all right, he continued “My days have been wonderful with you, and to have you offering a blow job? Kittycat, you blew more than my dick.”

She giggled more and didn’t attempt to stifle the sound.

“The sensation of your wet hot mouth around my cock was so erotic, I was afraid I would come within seconds when you engulfed me with your lips and rubbed your tongue along the crown.”

A tingling swept up the back of her neck and crept across her face.

Great, I’m blushing like a teenager again.

She swallowed a few times but couldn’t get rid of the lump in her throat. Light-headed, she stared at their tangled hands, before she remembered he wanted to see her reactions.

She forced herself to make eye contact. “It–it embarrasses me to think how brazen I was.” She let her gaze drop, caught herself when he made the low warning sound in the back of his throat, and snapped her head back up.

“Go on,” he prompted.

My goodness, why is this so hard?

“I also think, and I know this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous, but I feel like I’m being disloyal to Liam.”

Master hummed and played with her fingers. It was just enough distraction for her to be able to continue.

“My marriage is dead, has been dead for a long time.” She shook her head. “I don’t even know if the relationship with Liam ever stood a chance.” Scowling she muttered, “I still don’t know why Liam wanted to marry me. I’ve never really believed he even liked me very much.”

He leaned in and stroked his sensual mouth over her downturned lips. She stared into searing, intelligent eyes.

He broke the kiss far too soon to her liking. “And that makes you feel…”

“Unwanted, unattractive, in the way.” Her eyes widened when her words sank in.

Did I just say that out loud? How mortifying!

Almost as a reward for her honesty, he trailed open-mouth kisses along the underside of her jaw until he reached her neck where he suckled and licked at the spot that made her legs tremble as she clung to his shoulders.

All thoughts about her marriage and her assumptions about good and bad flew out the window. In this penthouse and the world of Byron Nolan, there was no place for black and white. This world consisted of incredibly bright, flamboyant colors. And every single day she fell a little bit more for this incredible man.

Deciding to be brave, she whispered, “I love you.”

He stilled and groaned against her skin. “Say it again.”

“I love you.” Her voice was firmer now.

“Fuck, woman.” He squeezed her so hard, he just might have cracked a few ribs, but she didn’t protest. Especially not when he followed with, “I love you, too.”

Wanting to jump up and down with the elation his words elicited, she settled for curling her hand around his nape and pulling him in for a kiss. For a few of her hammering heartbeats, he let her control the kiss before he took over, dominating her mouth, mastering her body, captivating her mind.

My goodness, never in my life have I been kissed so passionately.

He took her mouth deep and hot, his hand around her jaw angling her head in every way he wanted. But she gave him her all in return. Their tongues tangled, pushed, and prodded before retreating and luring the other into the play.

Eventually, clearly reluctantly, he pulled back. After giving her a light kiss, he set her on her feet. “Although I’d enjoy holding you longer, we both have work to do. And I’m liable to strip you naked and have my way with you on my desk. I have had some very carnal dreams about you and this desk.”

Glancing at the table, she squeezed her legs together against the ache in her core. His words and the visual of being spread out over the desk and ravaged made moving impossible. “Um, I, Um.”

Again, her attention slid to the desk, and she didn’t move away. Byron couldn’t tear his gaze from her.
