She nodded. “Yes, Sir. I want to come. Please, make...” She didn’t have the chance to finish the sentence. With expert fingers, Nathan found her clit and pinched the sensitive bud. Like a vice he held, much firmer than he had with her nipple and the nerves swelled and pulsed in his grip—almost like it had its own heartbeat. Ruby tensed and held her breath. Nathan nipped her earlobe and she let out a startled gasp. Then Nathan let go of his grip on her clit and she screamed when the pent-up orgasm swept over her. Heat traveled like a wildfire in a summer drought through her body.

“God. Damn. It!”

The loud, angry roar doused the blazing heat in her faster than a firefighting plane dropping thousands of gallons of flame retardant.

Will returned to the club—to them. And caught Ruby climaxing under Nathan’s hand. This was so—so bad!

For a moment, the entire club seemed to halt their activities and people appeared to hold their collective breath. Ruby’s teeth started rattling.

Then the entire room erupted in activities. Men were shouting. Someone pulled her against their body. Ruby struggled, and the person made a shushing sound. “Take it easy, girlfriend.” Sandra.

“Here,” GT’s voice, “she needs the warmth and the cover.” He slid a subbie blanket over her shoulders. Sandra pulled Ruby away from the ruckus, her arm firmly around Ruby’s shaking shoulders— and they weren’t the only part trembling, her entire body shook.

“Is she going to be all right?” Paula’s voice sounded like she was under water or something—but that didn’t seem right. All Ruby’s thoughts made little sense right now.

Ruby tried to lift her face and reassure the blonde, but her muscles didn’t obey.

Sandra squeezed her shoulder while GT quietly conversed with Paula. She couldn’t follow their conversation. Words drifted to Ruby—Subspace. Fighting. Subdrop—although she knew their meaning, the words didn’t make sense to her.

Someone—GT?—pressed something hard and cold in her hands. “Drink.”

She shook so hard, she needed Sandra to help her lift the bottle to her mouth. Painfully, she swallowed and forced some of the liquid into her stomach. The next swallow was a little bit easier. Then she drank greedily and downed more than half of the bottle before pulling away.

She blinked and stared into the worried faces of GT and Paula. “I’m going to wallop those assholes,” the blonde detective sergeant grumbled.

GT grinned. “No need, I think by the time Jim and Bob are done with them, they will be properly apologetic.” He sobered and turned his perceptive eyes to Ruby with a Dom’s assessment. “I guess you want to go home.”

Ruby nodded, not trusting her voice.

“Thought as much.” He gave his wife a tender look. “Can you help her dress?”

“Sure.”

“Did you drive here by yourself or did you come with Nathan?” GT carefully gripped her upper arm.

Huh? She blinked and chewed on her lip piercing.

“Ruby.” Paula’s voice was sharp. “Car?”

“Um.” Right - transportation. “No. No. I came with Nathan.”

“Okay, sweetie.” GT let go of her arm and patted her shoulder. “Sandra and I will take you home.”

“I’ll tell Will and Nathan,” Paula volunteered. “But you need to talk with your men about this.” At Ruby’s sharp inhale, Paula lifted her hands in a placating gesture. “Not tonight, but once you’re all a bit calmer.”

They all gave her a few moments to gather herself before Ruby rose on wobbly legs. “I want to get out of here.” She cringed as angry words from the main room reached her ears. Sandra stood beside her in a heartbeat, and Ruby leaned into her best friend with a grateful sigh. Together, they went into the woman’s dressing room. It didn’t escape Ruby’s attention GT stood at the entrance—feet squared, and arms crossed. Her best friend and her husband were protective, and now they would guard her and keep her safe.

With tears blurring her vision, Ruby wrenched open her locker and pulled out her heavy tote bag. More out of habit than actually expecting a message, Ruby checked her phone. Five missed phone calls, a voicemail and two text messages from Jewel. Ruby dropped on the wooden bench in front of the row with lockers.

[9:38] Jewel: There’s been an accident. Luke’s in the hospital. Can’t reach you. Going there now.

[9:41] Jewel: They took him to Truman. Please come too.

Her phone clattered to the floor, a crack appearing on the glass shield before the world around her turned black and she was tumbling backwards into a hole. She missed Sandra’s shout for GT and never knew the Dom caught her before she slammed her head on the floor tiles.

Will slammed his hand in the wall beside the lockers, leaving a fist deep indentation. The pain barely registered. God fucking damn it! What a crummy way to end a horrible ten days.

Jim squeezed his shoulder in both a restraining and comforting gesture. “Get yourself together asshole before you do more damage.”
