Speaking of broken hearts, I search for Haisley and sigh. Poor girl looks miserable. She’s hanging out on the lawn chair, drink in hand, with her knees up to her chest as she stares daggers at someone. I follow her line of sight straight to Andrew. He stands on the other side of the yard, talking to one of the twins’ friends. A tall blonde girl who I really want to tit punch right now.

Not the best parenting, but I’m the only one who sees how Haisley looks at Andrew. It sure as hell isn’t how a sister should look at her brother.

Things between them have never been like that, though. Andrew always has had this overprotective nature with Haisley. Even with them being close in age, they never had that bond. He was her protector, and she saw him as her knight in shining armor.

Their fathers don't see it, but about four years ago, when Andrew started really getting into the dating game, they became more and more distant. Their bond became strained. I'm not sure if Andrew sees how she feels, though. It's not something I have any right to get involved in.

"Hey, Mama Bear," Mila says, standing next to me. I look over and sigh, knowing that look.

“What did you do now?” I swear these twins are going to be the death of me.

“Nothing I did. It’s what you did.” She laughs.

I raise a brow. “What did I do?”

“Dad was jacking off in his office to videos of you,” Zayden chimes in, moving to stand next to his sister, wrapping his arm around her. Mila laughs.

“Daddy kink, huh? Nice.”

I close my eyes and take a deep breath, not sure if I should laugh or be mortified. Things with these two are always complicated. And I can’t be surprised seeing how they are the spitting image of their father and me.

Zayden has dark hair like his dad, and Mila has dirty blonde hair like me.

Link made sure he was the one who knocked me up after Haisley. He was beyond proud of himself when he found out that the twins were his DNA.

Then came Fiona with Travis’s DNA. She looks like him with her jet black hair.

Then a year later came Clarke.

We tried and tried for another with Quinton’s DNA, but after going to the doctor a year later, we found out his sperm count was low, and while there was still a chance I could get pregnant, he was okay with stopping. Six kids was a lot and he didn’t feel the need to have one with his DNA. He said we had Andrew and every one of our kids were his in his heart. It took me years to stop feeling guilty and to realize he really was okay with it.

“I don’t want to hear it.” I can’t help but smile. “You know what your dads and I do.”

"God, do we ever." Zayden shivers in disgust. "And I wish I didn't."

"How about you shut up." I raise a brow, and then look at Mila. "You, get your friend away from your brother."

Her brows shoot up and glances over my shoulder. "Shit," she sighs. "When is that asshole going to wake up and see the best damn thing that's ever happened to him is right in front of his face," she hisses before storming over to them. I watch as she slaps Andrew upside the head.

“What the fuck was that for Meme?” he uses his nickname for her.

“For being stupid!” she huffs as he stares at her in shock. He mutters something, then stalks away. My eyes find Haisley, watching him go.

“Here, Mom.” Clarke hands me the cupcakes.

“Thanks, baby.” He smiles at me, gives Zayden a nod, then heads back over to his chair to read.

I place the cupcakes on the snack table. “You did what we talked about?” I ask Zayden.

“Made him piss his pants.” He chuckles.

“Nice.” I give him a high five. Not the best parenting, conspiring with your kid to get his brother's bully beaten, but no one fucks with my family.

“Don’t worry, Ma. I got their back.” He leans in, licks my fucking face, and then darts off cackling like the fucking joker.

“Gross,” I groan, wiping at my cheek. Weirdo that one is.

“I bet if we made him go to see a professional, they would lock him up,” Hunter chuckles. I grin up at him and let him pull me into his arms.
