“Momma Rebecca is always right.” Molly giggled.
“Anyway, cancel my appointments. My only priority is catching Addison and Tristan.”
“Tristan?”
“Tristan, our accountant is working with her.”
“You’ve gotta be shitting me.”
“I wish.”
“I see Nasir and Nicco at the door to leave.”
“They’re about to come over here so we can regroup.”
“Should I come and keep Amelia company?”
“If you think that’ll keep her calm.”
“I’ll cancel your appointments and move stuff around.”
“Thanks, Molly.”
“No problem, Aydin. See you soon.”
Knock! Knock!
“Yeah.” I grabbed a case file from the drawer, turning when the door pushed open with Amelia dressed in a crisp white shirt and thigh-high jeans.
“I never got a chance to say thank you.”
“For what?”
“Not casting me aside without a safety net.”
She looked around the room and noticed my medals from the navy.
“You’re welcome.”
“Do you miss it?”
“What?”
“The navy, the brotherhood.”
“Sometimes, but I have most of my guys with me that made it out.”
“Your mom’s really sweet.”
“She likes you.”
“Really!” Amelia leaned on the edge of my desk.
“Not sure what spell you put on her, but she likes you, and Josiah’s already tried to claim you.”
“Josiah’s a sweetheart.”
I made an annoyed sigh. Josiah wouldn’t know what to do with a woman like her.
