“Amelia.” He smirked, and I sat against the desk.

“Get your mind on the issue.”

“She did run out of the event fast that night.”

“I need real proof. Addison would bullshit her way out of anything. Then her father would put my business in a bad light.”

“Another way is to look at the camera from that night.”

“We only have the angle of the ballroom.”

“Talk to the hotel manager for the hallway angles.”

“Let me think it over first.”

“What are you going to do in the meantime?”

I lifted the phone and dialed Amelia’s number.

“Talk to Amelia.”

“Maybe I should be there.”

“I’m capable of being professional.”

“Somehow it doesn’t come across that way when it pertains to her.”

“This is business.”

I heard her voicemail message.

“You can leave a message.” I hung up and stood.

“No answer.”

I shook my head.

“Her voicemail.”

“She’s probably out on a date again.” He chuckled, and I grunted to avoid a conversation on her dating life.

“I’ll be back.” I reached in my pocket to grab my keys.

“Where are you going?”

Nasir walked out of my office behind me.

“To her place.”

“Not sure that’s a good idea.”

I turned to face him.

“Why?”

“It’s the weekend and more than likely, she’s out with friends.”

“Come with me.”
