“Those emails were clear about her intentions and the night of the party.”
“When Amelia ran out?”
“Yeah, Amelia didn’t even think we would believe her.”
“She’s going to be okay.” Nasir put his hand on my shoulder.
“Something about this is different.”
“What do you mean?”
“She knows we won’t give up.”
“She’d be stupid try to run.”
“I need all of her family’s addresses and any contacts in the police.”
“On it.”
AYDIN
“I need answers!” I shouted in the conference room. “She’s been missing for too long, and I am ready to turn the entire city upside down. My men went to every location Amelia frequents, and I talked to her parents. They hadn’t gotten a call or ransom for her return.”
“We’re leaning on everyone we can without making more noise,” Nicco said.
“Then lean harder.”
I launched all the papers across the table to the floor, my chest heaving up and down.
“Look, we need to relax and stay focused. Turning on the guys won’t help.” Nasir tried to talk me down.
“She’s out there alone with some maniac and crazy bitch. Don’t tell me to relax.”
I got in Nasir’s face, and Nicco stuck his hand between us to separate me.
“Amelia’s strong.”
“He’s right, Aydin.”
“All I want to know is how Addison slipped in with her men.”
“She paid off the guard,” Nicco confessed.
I blinked in disbelief.
“Where is he?”
“Take care of yourself. You don’t need to worry about that.” Nasir picked up the documents and placed them on the table.
“We know they took her from her apartment.”
“And we have phone records between Addison and her dad,” Nicco pointed out the sheets. Days of phone records revealed Addison only contacting her father once or twice, but everything else seemed normal as usual.
“She might have a second phone.”
All eyes looked at me.
“What are you thinking?”
