“Ha-ha, you’re not funny,” I said, rolling my eyes. She backed up, pulling out of the parking space, driving off toward the beach.
Forty minutes later, we arrived at the beach. A few trucks were lined up on the beach with the Raven Cosmetics logo as well as the film crew. I noticed Danielle talking to Josslyn; I saw the makeup trailer next to a sign that read Raven ‘Private Events Only’.
“Here we are,” Novah said, turning the car off. Grabbing our bags from the back, we walked over to Danielle as she gave directions to the caterers.
“This is looking good, Danielle,” I said, giving her a hug.
“Thank you. I’m excited Zoe came up with the beach idea. We will probably have the next one inside,” Danielle replied.
“Sounds great. I’m ready, maybe a little touch-up.”
“Today you’re taking photos of lipstick and body glitter. Do you have your swimsuit?” Danielle questioned.
“All set. Actually, I’m wearing it right now.” I passed my bag to Novah and removed my shirt and shorts. As soon as I removed the shirt, I heard whispers behind me.
“What the hell are you wearing?!” I jumped at the interruption.
“Dominic, you came. I’m so glad,” Danielle stated, clapping her hands together.
“She’s not shooting in that.” He removed his jacket and tried to cover me up. I rolled my eyes and pushed his jacket away.
“We’re on the beach. There’s nothing wrong with my swimsuit.” I tried to walk off with Novah, and he stepped in front of me.
“You’re selling lipstick; you don’t need a thong for that,” Dominic argued, stopping a crew member and grabbing the robe out of his hands to cover me up.
“Hi, I’m Novah,” Novah said, extending her hand to Dominic.
“Dominic Combs,” he responded, smiling in her face. I glanced between the two and saw Novah blushing and I felt a hint of jealousy.
“Novah! Let’s go.” I pushed her forward, trying to get her to leave.
“Hold up. Danielle, she needs to cover up. She’s showing off too much skin,” Dominic stated.
I was trying to compose myself and not go off on him in front of the others and be seen as the diva.
“I’m wearing my swimsuit, nothing’s wrong with me wearing a thong. I’m selling a product, and my fans want to see my outfit. You need to loosen up more, grab a drink and chill,” I advised, patting his chest and walking off. I heard giggling behind me and saw Danielle shaking her head at both of us.
Chapter Six
Lauren
I slammed the trailer door and paced back and forth. Novah cackled, sitting down in the chair at the vanity mirror as the hairdresser started removing the hair products out of her bag.
“He’s cute,” Novah remarked.
“Not funny.”
“Lauren, are you keeping your hair up?” Lia asked.
“Yeah, Danielle wants to do a body glow, and I hate to get my hair messed up.”
“She’s grumpy because her bodyguard boyfriend yelled at her,” Novah said, tossing her hair into a ponytail. Lia chuckled, plugging in the curling iron and setting up the makeup station.
“Which one? I saw about four or five guys out there walking around,” Lia replied.
“The tall one with the full lips and a low-cut fade. Can you bump my ends for me?” Novah asked. Lia nodded.
“I understand this is amusing for you, Novah, but get out of my seat.”
