“Oh?”

Jupiter only smiled. “I can see the wheels turning in that pretty head of yours. I’m not telling you anything.”

“Afraid I’m going to run again?”

“The window at the club was clever. How did you know it was there?”

“A leprechaun told me.”

Jupiter smiled expectantly.

“Fine.” Trev stretched out on his side with a huff. “I used to work there. Before they did some remodeling. That’s how I knew.”

Jupiter nodded.

“So. You afraid I’m going to run again?”

“Not afraid, but definitely prepared for it.” Jupiter crossed his arms. “That’s why I’m not telling you anything because I know you’ll use the tiniest detail to your advantage. You’re smart.”

“Aw, thank you.” Trev beamed. “You know, I think once I really get to know you, you’ll still be, oh yeah, a giant fucking asshole.”

“Yes, with a job to do.”

Trev rolled onto his back, noticing how Jupiter’s gaze drifted over his body. “Does that job include fucking me?”

“That was an unexpected perk.” Jupiter’s eyes paused on Trev’s exposed stomach. “But don’t worry. It’s been a rough night. I’ll save your punishment for later.”

Trev’s loins flooded with a traitorous surge of heat, but he kept his face neutral. “Like I’m ever going to let you touch me again.”

“You will.” Jupiter chuckled. “You think you’re smarter than me and you’ll use the only edge you have left. Well, the one you think you have anyway. That I want you.”

“I think that you want me? Oh please.” Trev laughed. He slid his hand up his body to push his hoodie up, moaning wantonly. “Oh, you really are such a talented boy, aren’t you, baby doll?” He bit his lip, raising his ass off the bed and humping the air as he continued to mock Jupiter’s previous comments. “That’s right, mmm. Never had anyone suck me like this before, oh my God, baby. It’s just so good, mmm. You’re such a good boy.”

Jupiter’s upper lip twitched.

“That was you,” Trev said flatly, flopping back against the mattress. “Creaming your glittery little drawers over me.”

“You were an adequate partner.”

“Adequate?” Trev scowled. “We both know you’re full of shit and you’re just saying that to piss me off. You might as well stop.”

“Why would I do that when it works so easily?” Jupiter chuckled. “You’re an open book. I already know you better than you know yourself. Your desire for approval is almost toxic.”

“Oh no!” Trev pretended to pout. “That really hurts my feelings coming from the guy whose entire personality screams daddy issues.” He scoffed. “Let’s see. Controlling in bed, probably a perfectionist, you hate being vulnerable, you want to fuck all the time but you never commit so you can’t be abandoned again. That about sum it up?”

Jupiter said nothing.

“So, what happened?” Trev pressed. “Daddy leave you all alone? Did he go out for cigarettes and never come back?”

“Do you know what happened to yours?” Jupiter countered.

Trev narrowed his eyes.

“Your brother, Roderick Legrand, killed him.”

Trev froze.

No.
