I walk Secret to the door with Ryan following along behind.

“Well?” Secret asks.

“I’m supposed to be asking you that,” I remind her.

“Yeah, but you don’t even need to, do you?” she asks, raising an eyebrow at me.

“No, I guess not. It would be nice to get your take as my friend and an Omega, though.”

“Well,” she starts, “Jack seemed really happy once you guys got to the table. He was really anxious before that. So you two must have had a moment.”

“Oh my God,” I murmur. “That’s insane.”

“That’s my take as an Omega,” she explains, shrugging.

“I had no idea,” I admit.

“Do you want more?” she asks.

“Yes. No. Only if it’s not awful.”

“It’s all good,” she says. “But you already knew that, remember.”

I’m going to, for sure. It feels good to trust in my own feelings.

It’s been a while since I let myself do that.

“They all have warm and fuzzy feelings for you,” Secret reveals. “And that chef … Wow. He might have sex on the brain, but almost all of that energy was focused on you.”

I blink at her. “Enzo has sex on the brain?”

“Every time he looked at you it was like he was ready to pin you down and knot you.”

I feel my cheeks warming at the thought of that.

“Wait. Did you say almost?”

“He got turned on when Arrow moaned a few times, too.”

“Right.” Those little sounds he makes are pretty sexy.

“Anyway, I’m really happy for you.”

We stop at the door, and Secret gives me a hug.

“Call me about opening night,” she says as she breaks the embrace.

“I will. Have a good afternoon. You too, Ryan.”

He mutters his farewell. I didn’t get his take on this, but I guess I didn’t really need it.

Secret was right. I knew. I just had to trust in the feeling.

I walk back to the table, feeling a whole lot better about everything.

When I sit back down, they’re all quiet and they’re all watching me, waiting.

I can’t help wondering if Enzo’s having sexy thoughts right at this moment.
