Page 119 of Deadly Secrets

Sarah sat at the end of my sunbed and grabbed one of my hands in hers.

“You know I love you. You’ve gone through a lot in the past twelve months, and I’m just worried about you. When you called me and told me about what happened, I almost dropped dead in shock. But I hope that this event with your professor and Maggie or Lizzie—or whatever the name of that cunt was—made you realize one thing.” Her face was dead serious.

“What thing?” I asked.

Sarah looked me straight in the eyes and confessed, “That I’m your best friend, and you should not trust any whore who wants to take my place.”

We both erupted into laughter, and I tugged Sarah down and hugged her. She was a great support after what happened a few months ago. As soon as I called her and broke the news, Sarah took the first flight to me. Since then, we’ve been texting or FaceTiming each other almost every day. She was extremely worried about me and my mental health, so she pushed me to get an appointment with a therapist to help me with all the trauma I had experienced since my parents’ murder.

“Mmm. Noah was right. You do have nice tits.” She giggled while rubbing her chest with mine.

I pushed her away and kicked her with my feet until her ass fell on the floor.

“Fucking pervert. Go and enjoy your facial, but don’t forget we’re having dinner at Can Berri Vell tonight at eight o’clock.”

“I won’t. By the way, have you heard anything from your lawyer?”

“Yes, Mr. Lehman called me this morning. The investigation was finalized two days ago, and William’s lawyer was able to demonstrate that the statute of limitations for embezzlement in New York had run out, so the judge dismissed the case.”

“Aren’t you upset that he’s gonna walk away without facing any consequences?” Sarah questioned.

“A bit but mostly, I feel pity for him. His ambition and greed made him lose his best friend, his company, and now his fiancée. Ander has been avoiding his calls, but I’ve told him he doesn’t have to do it for me. It’s his dad after all.”

“So what’s gonna happen to Zayn and his mom?”

“Claudia is living in my house in Port Chester, and I’ve opened an account for them so they can use my card until the authorities unfreeze their accounts. Hopefully, this will give them a sense of normalcy until then,” I said.

Sarah placed a hand on my chest. “You have a heart of gold, Sienna.”

I exhaled.

“For a second, I thought you were gonna make a move on me,” I deadpanned.

Sarah responded by slapping my left tit.

“You wish.” Sarah stood and placed her sunglasses on. “See you later, darling. Enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.”

I put my AirPods on and closed my eyes.

I was absolutely in love with everything Ibiza had to offer. The food was amazing, the people were friendly, and the secluded calas where you could relax and soak up nature were outstanding. The vibrant nightlife and the warm Mediterranean sun were just the cherry on top.

My week here had been a blast, and even though I had followed a completely different routine compared to last year, I didn’t miss my previous empty life of endless parties and casual flings. Everything was perfect, but one thing was missing. Well, actually, three.

“I Put A Spell On You” by Annie Lennox played on my phone when I sensed a shadow casting over my face.

Strange. I didn’t remember seeing any clouds in the sky a few minutes ago.

When I opened my eyes, a tall figure wearing a black T-shirt that accentuated his tattooed arms and jeans blocked the sun.

“Zayn!” I tried standing, but someone pushed my shoulders down on the sunbed from behind. I bent my neck and smiled when I noticed Noah towering over me. “Noah,” I beamed. “You’re early.” I was sure I had a stupid smile plastered on my face, but I was so happy to see them.

“Why are you naked, Sienna? Anyone could see you like this?” The voice came from my left, but I’d know that voice anywhere.

“Who’s going to see me? I’m just by myself,” I retorted.

Ander came into view, wearing casual chino trousers and a white linen button-down. He looked edible.
