Could I be more of an idiot? I’d been pacing the floor all day, and now that she was standing before me, I was making her hang out in the hallway.

“Of course.” Stepping aside I ushered her in, closing the door behind her. “How did your day go?” I helped her out of her jacket and slung it over the armchair by the door before removing mine and kicking my boots back off.

Strolling into the room, she flopped herself onto the way too hard bed. “This is…”

“A shithole,” I supplied for her.

Laughing, she shook her head. “I’d never say that.”

Walking over to my duffle bag, I gave it a shake. “At least Romeo gave me all my stuff back. He’s quite the stand-up guy.” I was itching to ask her if they’d talked.

“He is.” Grinning she added, “You’re dying to ask me how things went with him.”

I huffed, trying to brush the accusation off. “What? No.”

“Well, even though you don’t care in the least, I’ll tell you anyhow. I got a new phone, retrieved my photos.” She grinned. “I did like our photos by the way. And then I confronted him when he showed up. Long story short, rest assured the charges will be dropped and we’ll be putting this all behind us.” Lacing her hands on her lap in front of her, she looked down at the floor. “I do feel like I owe you an apology. You shouldn’t have had to deal with a crazy ex, and you certainly didn’t deserve to almost lose the part because of the drama that comes with me. I’m sorry.”

My heart went out to her. How in the hell could she blame herself for what happened? Crouching down on the floor between her legs, I ran my knuckles along her jawline. “You have nothing to be sorry for. None of this was your fault.”

“So now what?”

“Well… What I’m envisioning is that I can check out of this shitty hotel tomorrow with you and we move ahead with what we originally planned.”

“You have a job now. It’s not like you need to.”

The fact that she’d even have a hint of the notion that I only wanted to live with her because it was a financial issue hurt. “I want us to live together because I’m in love with you and want to wake up with you each and every morning, not for any other reason.”

A stunning, shy smile lit up her face. “Okay then.”

Nodding, I confirmed. “Okay. So, it’s settled. Tomorrow we stop by the store and get ourselves some his and hers towels so we can make it official.”

“You think we need the towels?”

“Gotta have the towels or it’s not legit, right? Or do you think we need the pillowcases as well?”

Framing my face in her hands, she leaned in and kissed me tenderly. “I think you’re a little crazy.”

“Just a little? I’ll take it.”

She leaned into me again, this time her kiss had more urgency and need behind it. My dick came alive, the smell of her sweet jasmine perfume wrapping itself around me and beckoning me closer. A low groan escaped me as I forced my tongue past her lips and slowly rose to my feet, pushing her back onto the bed.

There was a slight hesitation within me, scared I may be taking advantage of her in a vulnerable state, but as I stared down into dark eyes filled with hunger for me I couldn’t hold myself back. Planting a hand on either side of her head, my lips savagely reclaimed hers.

Her legs wrapped around my waist, pulling me tighter to her. With the ridge of my dick grinding against her pelvis, my balls grew tight as my cock yearned to slide deep inside of her. God, I needed this woman more than I’d ever craved a woman before.

My memory, while almost back, was still shady on some things. I couldn’t remember exactly what we’d done sexually in the past, but one thing that felt very familiar was the way that he felt between my legs. As our tongues tangoed, each trying to take the lead, a surge of desire raced through me more intense than anything I’d ever felt before.

“I need you, Dylan,” I moaned as he pulled his lips from mine and slowly began to nibble his way across my jaw to nip at my earlobe.

“You have no idea how badly I’ve missed being with you like this.” His voice was warm, tickling and teasing my exposed neck.

“That so?” Clutching to his back, my fingernails digging into the muscle at his shoulders, I closed my eyes arching my back, my breasts straining at the delicate pearl buttons on my blouse.

“It’s very true.” His torturous tongue and lips made their way down my neck while his hand slipped between us to cup my mound over my jeans. “The thought that I’d never be close to you, with you—” he gave my mound a squeeze “—in you was almost too much to bear. I’ve never wanted someone so badly in my life.”
