“Stubborn man.” I leaned forward for a quick peck, but he had other plans.
He captured my lips between his, hungrily taking my mouth. I panted around the kiss, breathless but begging for more. His hand fisted my hair and he arched my neck as he planted butterfly kisses until he reached my collarbone. My resistance was melting along with my core, and it was all for him. This was a bad idea, but I was powerless to resist.
“Time for ... oh …” A loud growl echoed throughout the room as Seuss pulled me into his arms protectively. I turned to see Alice fleeing from the room with a tray of food.
I giggled against Seuss’ chest.
“You … this isn’t funny …” His voice was gruff and sexy.
I kissed his chest and pushed against his tight hold around me. “I normally lock the door behind me before I give you a bath, but I was so nervous that I forgot.”
“Your fault then.” He chuffed.
I laughed harder. “Don’t blame me for her delivery of your dinner.”
Seuss silenced me with another kiss, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. There was something about this moment that felt different than before. The way he held me close as he conquered the kiss sent my mind spinning. I clung to him as if he was my life line. I could smell his arousal through the taste of him. He tasted of pure sin, and I was hungry for more. He pulled away from my lips and nibbled along my chin. My head rolled away from him, and he followed me with his lips. He sucked along the curve of my neck then replaced his lips with the tips of his tongue, raising goosebumps in its trail.
“Seuss,” I moaned loudly. A hum rose deeply from his chest. Seuss was sliding the shoulder of my dress down my arm as he kissed across my collarbone.
A knock sounded at the door, and I knew without a doubt that it was Maddox. Every bone in Seuss’ body tensed. He was ready to strike, and I wasn’t sure that I could hold him back. I kissed his lips briefly and begged him with my eyes to relax.
“Yes?” I yelled out.
Maddox voice was loud and clear when he spoke. “I’m sorry to interrupt any bonding time but Justice, there’s a problem with one of the girls. I wouldn’t bother you if it wasn’t an emergency in the pack.”
I looked at Seuss and confusion was apparent on his face. “I’m sorry. I need to go see what’s going on.”
I regretted to leave him but if there was an emergency I had to go. Seuss stared after me as I laced up my boots and ran out of the room. Maddox informed me that Alice would take me to where I needed to go. He entered into Seuss’ room with his food, and I set out to find this emergency.

“What do you need me to do?” I looked at the little girl that was severely hurt and laying on the table in the pack’s medic room. She’d been playing in the woods near an old mill where she’d stumbled over an ax. She had cuts all over her legs.
“She needs to shift. If we can get her to do that then her own DNA will do the rest. Using other methods are too risky for her age.” Alice’s concern was apparent.
I looked at her mother who was sitting in the chair sniffing as the tears slid down her reddened cheeks. “Why isn’t her mother …”
“Justice … it has to be you.” Alice cut me off and gave me a look. There was something that I was missing. Maybe she’d forgotten that I’d never shifted on my own and had no idea how it all worked.
“What’s her name?” I asked.
“Eliza.” Her name was powerful, and I liked it. She was too young to have the cuts marking her skin.
She cried and was curled into a tight ball, but she wouldn’t shift into wolf form and back. She wouldn’t listen to anyone for that matter. I reached for her leg to see if I could get her to unroll, and the little pup growled at me. Without thought I responded by roaring back at her, and she shifted into wolf form. I raised my head standing taller, and Eliza shifted and lowered her head.
I noticed the difference in her injuries immediately. I lifted her head a little and she smiled. She was only eight years old, but I could see that she was going to be a handful. I say a similar spirit and wondered if she was an Alpha female. That would explain why her parents couldn’t get her to shift. They weren’t dominant at all.
I stayed with her for a bit before we headed back to the house in time to see the pack shift for their run. I sat watching them, but I couldn’t help but wonder how Seuss was feeling about missing this. Alice mentioned that no wolf should be alone during a full moon, and that included my Alpha. I wanted to make tonight special for him, too.
I grabbed something to drink before I headed upstairs. I went into the master bedroom and freshened up in the bathroom before heading into Seuss’ room. I almost thought that he was asleep, but he was gazing out the window at the moon turned away from me. I locked all the outside doors and climbed into bed with him and removed my robe.
Seuss didn’t say a word as I straddled his hips. He trailed his fingers down my body and pulled my mouth to his as he joined our bodies together for the first time. I cried out at the pain from him breaching my barrier. I clung to him hoping that it’d subside. I was speechless at how he’d invaded me all at once. His thickness consumed me, pulsing against the walls of my canal, it was too much, yet just right all at the same time.
“Fuck, you’re tight,” he barked.
I shivered trying not to move away. I stayed still waiting for anything to happen.
“You waited for me … now I’ll wait for you.” Seuss kissed me briefly and caressed my back calming me slowly. I shivered in response.
