“Reaper?”
“Yeah,” I said, smiling.
“When can we go for a ride?”
“Babe, I’m about to ride you right now.”
She pulled away from me, and I watched as her eyes tried to focus on me.
“I meant a real one,” she said with a frown. Her cheeks were flushed, and they reminded me of last night, but it reached her chest.
“Are you trying to say my cock isn’t real? That’s hurtful to me and my cock,” I said, needing to get her upstairs quickly.
She gripped my top and stopped us on the gravel pathway to the club. I saw Animal standing near the doors smoking a cigarette.
“No. Those ones,” she pointed at all the bikes parked up. “I love that red and black one.”
I gave Scar’s bike a nasty stare.
“You will never be riding that bike,” I snapped at her.
“Why are you mad at me?” She said with her lips turned downward.
I sighed.
“Because that’s not my bike, and you will only ever ride my bike?”
“Oh. Is yours red and black?”
“No,” I said flatly, wondering how my dad was coping with my mum.
“Can I get a red and black one?”
I looked at her in surprise. “You can ride?”
“Yeah, but I only got to ride a really shitty one,” she said, the disgust dripping from her voice and face. “The only reason he let me get a license was so I could be the little house slave,” she said as she continued to walk again.
“Pfft. How is £40 supposed to buy a whole food shop and their drink? We had to stash emergency food in our rooms,” she continued.
I cringed at her words.
She began to poke the side of my face.
“You never let me keep my fucking burger. That was the only thing I had to look forward to,” she said angrily before sniffing.
I dropped the bags and grabbed her erratic finger before she stabbed my good eye. When I saw her face, she had tears running down her cheeks. She used the back of her hand and wiped them away, looking away from me.
“Kat,” I said, but she wouldn’t look at me. I didn’t care if Animal was watching us. “Baby, I’m sorry I didn’t let you keep your burger. I didn’t know. You had two burgers that night, remember?”
She looked up at me.
“But they weren’t May’s burgers,” she said sullenly.
“Take her in. I will bring her bags in,” Animal said gruffly, flicking his cigarette stub to the side and taking the bags from my feet.
“Thanks, man,” I said gratefully before consoling a grieving Kat.
I hugged her close to me and wrapped my arms around her waist until she rested her head on me. I rocked her.
