Page 118 of Darkest Deception

Emerald: I will have my doors locked.

Me: That won’t keep me out.

A grunt pulls me out of my little bubble, and I see the sisters wake up. The minute they all do, their eyes widen. Their muffled screams alert the others of their presence, and they shake and scream.

But their lips are taped. Their ankles are tied to the legs of the chair. Their hands are bound behind them.

“Shh, these screams might make me take out your vocals before I even do anything.”

That shuts them up real quick.

“I will be super quick, since my girl is waiting for me.” I get up, rotating the heating device in my hand.

“You hurt something precious to me, and now I just need to take a little revenge. Just with the same principles, because we don’t discriminate around here.” I lift the burning hair straightener in my hand, and their eyes widen.

“You hurt people, and I despise people like you. People who use their power and their money to do whatever you please.”

I get in the middle one’s face. Layla Madden, the powerhouse of this trio. I lift her chin with the burning end of the iron. Her scream pierces the silence, her eyes scrunching shut.

“You hurt Ambrose. You made her hate herself, and that’s more than enough reason to get rid of you. I originally thought it was just a case of light bullying, but then I saw the marks, the burns, and the cuts, and it made my blood fucking boil.” I press harder, hearing the skin burn.

Her other sisters are throwing a fit, screaming and thrashing in their chairs at me.

“Silence!” I shout.

They quieten, but their whimpers continue.

And I begin, with their arms, then their legs, burning, cutting them open, and keeping them alive and conscious through this pain. This is exactly what Ambrose felt when they did this to her. I continue for three hours until their bodies are no longer holding them up.

I grab a knife and slice their wrists, their ankles, and then slide one clean cut across their necks, enough to kill them but not enough for their heads to roll off. Once done, I set down my knife and take a step back.

I take out my phone and dial a number.

“Come and clean this shit. I got somewhere to be.”

I will reactivate the cameras tomorrow morning.

Now, I need to be with Ambrose. Once the news hits, she will realise what I did for her.

I rush towards Remo’s home, running past Aurora, who opens the door for me. I walk to my bedroom in the house and change into a simple black t-shirt and black jeans and then head back out. It would have taken me too long if I went to my own house, and I want to make it before she is asleep.

As soon as I am in her back garden, I see that she is in her final steps of yoga, so I quickly look around and climb up her balcony. As soon as my shoes hit the floor, her head snaps to me.

She rises and puts her yoga mat away.

“Not even trying to hide yourself now. Good one.” She sighs and walks away from me towards the toilet.

I rush to her and grab her wrist, spinning her around, pulling her against my chest.

“Didn’t you miss me today?”

She fights me to get me to let her go, but it won’t work.

Dipping my head down, I look into her scorching hot eyes. “I will work hard at asking for forgiveness from you, Ambrose.”

“If you know I am mad at you, then why are you still holding me? Don’t you know you repulse me now?” Her eyes narrow, making me smile.

There’s my little emerald.
